Hey Pav..should someone have a hall of shame?

I'm addressing this idea to you Pav, since you are a power player with lots of contacts....I really think this idea had real merit to perhaps make the studios take some real notice when fans are upset about poor DVD releases...maybe this website or our friends at tvshowsondvd should start sometype of "Hall of shame" for dvd releases and the first inductee should be Happy Days, season 2! The reason I suggest it, is giving studios 800 numbers out is a start, but sometimes fans don't really express themselves in a professional manner, and if a website is behind something, it will probably get more attention!

As you already have reviewed, the Happy Days season 2 DVD is perhaps one of the worst butcher jobs ever released, with no real reasons even behind the problems.....the rock around the clock opening, credits redone (as explained by me in another thread), the shabby packaging, even the bland non-colored screened discs....everything about this dvd screams "CHEAP".

I know gord over at tvshows is now hooked up with TV Guide and might want to avoid controversy, but we know the studios are aware of this website and if they announce they are putting Happy Days season 2 in their newly created hall of shame, I'm sure someone at Paramount would at least take notice, so maybe this type of release won't happen again.

That is a good idea. Actually we have a TV DVD Wall of Shame blog entry in the works this summer. I won't be doing it, skees53 will, but it looks to be good. I should pass it on to the studios when it goes up.
