Default Match Game 2007

Here's a couple of links:

Fremantle Media's plans to shop Match Game for syndication for the 2007-08 season, are still on the table. Watch this clip, and you'll see why TV stations should consider scheduling the show for late in the afternoon.

The target audience would be primarily high schoolers and college students. Another thing that would be an additional plus for the show is that they let the next host create his own characters, his own monologue, be funny, interract well with both the panel as well as the contestants and host the show, his way and not even attempt to be Gene Rayburn, because no host can ever duplicate his personality, nor should that host even attempt to. I'd like for the show to be in its 70s nightime format, but with a few modifications.

-6 celebrity panel
-2 Audience Matches with increased money value
1. Most popular response being worth $1000
2. Second being worth $500
3. Third being worth $250
That would mean a contestant could win as much as $20,000 in the head to head match
-Contestants staying on as long as 5 days
-Play up to 3 rounds of questions, with the 2 playing contestants attempting to match each celebrity once per round

In line with the times, I think that would pretty much cover how the game would be played. I'm still sticking with Craig Shoemaker as my choice to host the 2007 version of Match Game(he hosted VH1's short-lived game show, My Generation) and I'd like for Family Feud announcer, Burton Richardson to announce the show. Here's a clip of Craig Shoemaker, my choice to host Match Game 2007:

Now, for my choices as the debut celebrity panel, I'm going to list them:

1. Bill Bellamy
2. Kathy Griffin
3. Bruce Vilanch
4. Sherry Shepherd
5. David Spade
6. Erin Moran

This is slightly different from the last thread I started about Match Game for the 2007-08 season, but there's plenty of time. I really believe the execs need to wise up and not change anything major about what made the show a success when Gene Rayburn hosted in the 70s. The next host should just be himself, establish himself and host the show, his way and not try to be Gene. Here's a couple of clips from Gameshow Marathon:

Imagine Kathy and Bruce on the Match Game panel, with Craig Shoemaker bringing his flamboyant comical genious into his hosting-something to think about. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, with some links, start chiming in with your thoughts.
