Most of the series are original broadcast and have commericals. They should be just about complete, with very very few episodes missing. PM me please, dont post in this thread.

You have original broadcasts of I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver? How'd you manage to get those taped in the 1950's?

The Video Home System, better known by its abbreviation VHS is a recording and playing standard for analog video cassette recorders (VCRs), developed by Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) and launched in September 1976.[1] VHS is also said to refer to the technology behind the format, Vertical Helical Scan.

Just a thought though... Thanks.

Oldest VHS tapes I have are from 1977!! They are Panasonic and they have held up really well. Sure wish more old VHS tapes from that era would surface, I only can find beta from that era.

Betamax may have ended up being the commercial loser, but Beta is Better. I have a Betamax, all serious traders should.

Before the invention of videotape, shows were done live and then "kinescoped", which means that the TV screen was filmed with a movie camera, usually 16mm. These "kinnies" were then used for reruns; that is how we can still watch old shows such as I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners. And many programs, particularly cartoons, were distributed on film. The masters used by the TV stations, and kinnies shot by amateurs, could be and in many cases are still around.
