Today makes 34 yrs. that my father bought our house and it's still holding.
I grew up in this house from about the age of 4 to 32 which is most of my life. I came back last year at the end of June to live with my father and my boyfriend. I was the last one to leave the nest in July 2001. The house has had some changes done to it but overall it still looks like it did back then; and I'm really surprised that it hasn't fallen apart, not even a little bit. I hope that it will keep holding on for a very long time. We are the original owners of this house. |

I know the feeling. My parents bought my/their house new on Oct.9, 1966 when I was only 5 years old. This October, it will be 41 years I've lived in the same house. It is in good shape and has survived two large earthquakes (1971 and 1994). I think that in general, houses were built better in the '70s and earlier.

My husband and kids and I moved into our newly built house March 1, 1974. We are still here.
