Do you believe psychics can really contact deceased loved ones?
My sister wants to get tickets to go see Sylvia Browne when she comes to Nashville. She wants me to go with her but I'm not interested in going. She wants to find out things about our late father and she thinks Sylvia Browne will be able to give her some answers. I just wondered if anyone had opinions or experiences with this? |

Ooo, I can chime in here
My mother and Aunt actually attended a private session with a well-known spiritual medium here on Long Island. I forgot the guy's name, but I know they had to book him a year in advance because he was that good. Well, first of all, tell her your sister to bring a notebook with her to jot down anything interesting. I'm not sure if Sylvia allows you to bring any recording devices, but if so then I'd recommend that (sometimes they talk too fast for you to get everything down, you know?) Anyway, the guy my Mom went to was eerily accurate about a lot of stuff. He told her a lot of inside stuff about my family, including specific details about our personalities and past problems (which he would've had NO way of knowing since my Mom never gave him any hints). He also told her a bit about how my Nana was doing (she passed on in 1999). He relays messages from the dead too, and from my understanding it was a very emotional experience. My Mom's a very skeptical person, so for her to get touched by his words means a lot. Just go in with an open-mind It all depends on the person's reading, I guess. Sometimes you can tell if it's utter bull, and sometimes it's accurate. I hope your sister gets what she wants out of it

My sister will like hearing that. She wants several questions answered and I just have my doubts about the whole thing. She's trying to talk our mother into going with her now, since I refused.

I think some psychics are just fakes. Those that can contact the dead, in my opinion are delving into demonic activity. That's just my gut feeling; and I don't mean that those who seek out psychics are necessarily bad people--I just think it's spiritually dangerous.
(I hope I don't sound self-righteous, but psychics, fortune tellers, palm readers, etc., give me the creeps) Sorry if I've offended anyone. |

Tell your sister to save her money. Sylvia Browne is a fraud, along with anybody else who claims to be a psychic.

psychics do indeed exist, but out of common sense i recommend seeing only those who don't charge money for readings. |

For some reason my sister thinks S.B. will really be able to help her. I don't understand why she has so much faith in her but she does. I'm trying my best to talk her out of going and mom says she's doesn't want any part of it either. But in the end its her decision. But I just can't see spending $75 for tickets to see her and then not knowing for sure if she will actually get to ask her any questions.

Just tell your sister to throw her money out the window. Or better yet, give it to me and I will give her a "psychic" reading, complete with vague statements that all in that line of business give their suckers, er, clients.

But she really believes in this stuff and when you try to talk to her about it she gets all mad & defensive. There may be people out there that do have some psychic abilities but I don't think SB is really one of them. I think she is more of an entertainer but thats just my opinion. I can't figure out why my sister is so gung-ho about going to see her. |
