TV Land needs new shows - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Am I the only one who thinks this?What shows do you think TV Land will pick up soon?Hopefully Maude,Taxi,Welcome Back Kotter.Just reminding everyone to vote every week on the switchboard.

Not a bad idea. TV Land could use some "new old blood" to revitalize itself a bit.

What I find disturbing, however, is the fact that they now show movies. Gee, it's so hard to find old movies on cable stations - thank gawd to TV Land for providing such a service for us viewers!!!

Why I find it disturbing is that when VH1 began it was intended to be MTV for an older crowd. When ratings began to downturn, they got further and further away from music and music-oriented programming and is now primarily another outlet for mindless "reality" shows and shows that show us how much richer and better celebrities are than the rest of us.

I would hate to see TV Land get to the point where TV programs are a tiny part of their programming schedule. Why can't these niche stations stay true to their original concept??

I agree, a different mix of sitcom shows would be so nice to see.

They do need new shows, what they have need to be retired.

Yea shows like taxi & mary tyler moore would be great on tvland. M*A*S*H*, and bonanza or gunsmoke has worn out its welcome.

yes; I agree they do need new shows! The ones they have have been shown so much; they've worn out their welcome a long time ago! I've seen TAGS on there so many friggin' times; I'm sick of it!!!!
And MASH has been shown so many times on Hallmark and in sydnication!!!

Also they need to get rid of all those friggin' reality specials; and also the movies. All they are is just unfunny ones that have been shown over and over and over on VH1, Comedy Central, AMC, TBS, and other stations.
Like someone else said: thank god they ARE showing them; cause noone else EVER does!!!

Unfortunately, Sci-Fi has the cable monopoly locked up with the original series. The 1985 series would be good if TNT doesn't currently own the rights to it.

Some shows are just on too too often on the TV Land schedule -- please put on some new shows and try them out for a month or two -- we need something different to watch on TV Land.
