Production logos that scared you as a kid?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Sorry, I didn't know where else to put this thread...

I thought I was the only one who used to be scared of some of the production logos after TV shows, until I found this thread on the GSN board. Now I don't feel like so much of a freak anymore.

The Viacom "V of Doom" scared me to death with the giant "V" looking like it would go right through the screen. I think that ominous music was even scarier!! The ITC logo was a bit creepy, too.

The capper for me was after the closing credits of Sesame Street on Fridays before Mr. Rogers. I think it was something about the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. They would have a few minutes of nothing but some disclaimer (white letters across a black screen) while this ominous music played in the background. Even thinking about it, as an adult, gives me a shiver.

Boy, the things that scare you as a kid...

It WAS on YouTube, but then Viacom sued them for using it. Good luck finding it on Google. Those greedy...

This may sound dumb but on the LUCY SHOW at the closing credits, they would show a cartoon head of Lucy. For some friggin' reason, that scared the bejesus outta me. I would hide under the covers or cover my eyes. I couldn't stand seeing Lucy's head end right at the shoulder area.

My daughter ,when she was little,would freak at the American Lung Association commercials and symbols because I smoked at the time and that terrified her!

Not scary, but I used to think that the NBC peacock was a turkey!

OMG!!! Thanx for finding that. I never realized how many people found that scary. I think what made it scary was HOW LOUD THAT MUSIC IS!!!!! I had to turn down the volume on my computer. Me thinks, THEY DID IT ON PURPOSE!
