Annoying Rap Trends - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Almost everyone says that rap videos showing women in scantily dressed clothing , dancing around sexually on cars and whatnot, and being called "hos" are annoying . But here is one annoying trend that almost everyone forgets about. Here it is..........

"This is 2007 ya'll!" Don't you hate when rappers rap the year the song is recorded/released in the song?

My annoyance - SAMPLING!!

I recently heard a song, I don't know from who, that uses "Breakfast in America" from Supertramp. When I heard 'Take a look at my girlfriend....', I was like NOOO!

I remember when "Ice Ice Baby" came out and Vanilla Ice kept saying that the bass line at the beginning of it wasn't the same as the bass line in "Under Pressure" from Queen & David Bowie. OK, then why when one of my co-workers first played "Ice Ice Baby", I said 'cool, Queen' and he said, 'No, it's a guy named Vanilla Ice'.

For the most part, I enjoy sampling. Makes me remember the good old days
with a new twist on the song. Now if someone samples a song I hate, then I have a problem.

I agree with everything you said!! Also, the sagging pants are annoying. I still can't believe people are wearing those. I've been out of high school for 9 years and that's when that look first became huge. I've never liked it.

"Annoying rap trends"?? Isn't that a redundant statement??

But yeah, sampling, baggy clown-pants, and being constantly reminded of the year are annoying as hell.

How many times are videos going to continue to use the same tired theme:

bling bling and more bling, women prancing around naked and what else? oh yeah, nothing else.

What I find annoying is that I love some rap and I enjoy a lot of hip-hop music, however, I have found that I can't bother looking at music videos anymore because they are boring and not original.

Everyone is wearing or has worn grillz in a music video. Ice Cube wore grillz in a video one time!! It makes a video look stupid.
