The X-Files has always been one of my favorite shows, although when it was on, I was only able to see it every now and then, because of my work schedule. When it came out on dvd, I was shocked to see its list price as 99.99 per season. Imagine my surprise when I was shopping at my local Costco, and saw seasons 2,4,5,6, and 7 for only 23.99 each. Naturally, I scarfed them up. Later that day, I was at Best Buy with my son, and I saw season 1 for only 29.99. So, I picked that season up to. Now, I only need 3,8,and 9, to complete my collection. I think I'm off to a pretty nice start though! Now, I saw the complete original Twilight Zone box set, containing every episode, on 26 dvd's for 299.99 Should I spring for that? Anybody have that collection, and, if so, how is the quality? Thanks.

I'm glad you're happy about it. I always felt the X-Files was pretentious and boring but everybody's entitled to their own opinion. Do you think you would still like it after seeing Mike and the bots from MST3K riff on it? I'l lbet they'd show you how lame it really is! Plus they stopped making The X-Files long ago didn't they? Whatever!

You must be in the minority. Any show that lasts 9 years must have something going for it. I'm sorry that the show was to complicated for you to grasp. Lame it wasn't. Lame you are.

Then again Full House lasted 8 and Reba lasted 6, so there's really no tying the length of the series with quality. I actually couldn't get into the Xfiles either, I preferred Millennium, though I did see X was a quality show, neither character appealed to me.

A friend of mines loves the show, but refused to pay the heavy prices when they first came out. He too found them at a similar store called Sams club for around the same price.

It's spelled "too" not "to" but I guess you found MST3K "too" complicated and over your head and get insecure when someone dumps on some show they don't even make anymore. Whatever!

Actually the X-Files was a brilliant series and having it out on DVD is wonderful, but since Mikenelsonrules wants to talk about pretentious programs that would be MST3K, the most overrated puppet show of all time. The reason Misties are considered even lower than Trekkies is this pompous habit of theirs to act snooty about everything everybody else likes while ignoring how lame the puppet show that is the center of their life really is. And if Misties are as clever as they think they are why don't they "riff" on something themselves without having to have a dork and two puppets tell them what to laugh at? And Mikenelsonrules dumps on The X-Files as "a show they don't even make anymore"? Same deal with the Minnesota puppet show which was so terrible it got canned several times. Maybe its time for people like Mikenelsonrules to get on with their lives already. The X-Files was a brilliant show and even its worst episode was better than anything Mike Nelson has ever come up with. Any news about the X-Files on DVD is a welcome thread, posters who mindlessy repeat how they want a canceled puppet show to "riff" on every show people here talk about is a different story. Before anybody including admin judges my posting please check out the other posts by that immature Mistie Mikenelsonrules first.
Thank you to the original poster about sharing X-Files info. |

I guess watching puppets is all your small brain can comprehend. I don't really care that a bunch of puppets, and an unfunny host rag on an important TV series like the X-Files. At least it got you to thinking, no matter how "pretentious" you might think it was. By your logic, any TV show that is no longer in production should be forgotten about? What an idiot. But, you do watch puppets!

X-files while a good show did have some head scratching moments-especially the last few seasons.
If you got the DVDs at a good price all the more power to you :-) |

I love The X-Files. I think that it is one of the greatest shows ever produced. The writing was brillaint, the look of each episode was feature-like quality and it had some of the most compelling characters and imaginative storylines in the history of television. I think that Chris Carter is a genius. I love Millennium too.
