Default John Travolta: I wish I could trade careers with Tom Hanks

John Travolta says he has no career regrets — except, maybe, that he’s not Tom Hanks. “I wouldn’t trade [my career] for anyone’s except Tom Hanks’, I don’t think,” the “Wild Hogs” star told the London Independent. “Other than ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘The Green Mile,’ which I was offered and should have done, and ‘Splash’ was written for me, I still like my career better because of what I specifically contribute to it.” Travolta said he also had to turn down the role that went to Richard Gere in “An Officer and a Gentleman” because he was busy getting his pilot’s license

I'm kind of over John Travolta. Anyone else?

It would've been an interesting turn if John was Forrest Gump.He still kicked it in "Saturday Night Fever", so he will always be cool with me.

I don't see Travolta in The Green Mile role.
I don't think he would have worked half as well as Hanks.

Forrest Gump would have been interesting, to see what Travolta could have done with the character.

I might be in the minority here, but I think that is a pretty overrated performance (Hanks) in a seriously overrated movie (The Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction were both better films and lost to Forrest Gump at the Academy Awards).

And I'm sure Tom Hanks would have killed to star in "Perfect" and "Two Of A Kind."

Especially the movie Perfect when Jamie Lee Curtis is doing those pelvic plunge exercises. (Just imagine Tom Hanks face)...

And let's not forget the movie MOMENT BY MOMENT where John Travolta and Lily Tomlin played lovers.

C'mon Tom hanks can do anything, I like travolta, but when he went up against cage in face off, I think cage stold the movie, Tom hanks on the other hand is just wonderful, I love everything tom does, not true with travolta, some believe his best role was Tony Minerro in saturday night fever, I believe it was danny zuko in grease, Tom is a realist, he once admitted that he was not good Producing and directing and said he was sticking with acting.

I saw that movie once on one of our local stations. It was the Sunday Afternoon movie. Even as a PRE-TEEN I knew that movie was horrible. No wonder it was never commercially released on video or DVD, and only rarely appears on TV. No wonder John Travolta offered to do a movie FOR FREE for Universal if they would've shelved it. Wasn't WBK still on at that time??

Couldn't you see Tom in Saturday Night Fever or Grease? Urban Cowboy?? They both know about dressing in drag (JT in the upcoming Hairspray; TH in Bosom Buddies). I could see JT in Bachelor Party, but I can't see TH as Barbarino.

I don't think John could have pulled off Forrest Gump.
