Default Danny Bonaduce to Divorce

TV star Danny Bonaduce announced his divorce live on a Los Angeles radio show this morning.

The former Partridge Family star-turned-reality TV king revealed his wife Gretchen has informed him he will be served with divorce papers on The Adam Corolla Show, where he's a regular sidekick.

Bonaduce wed Gretchen in 1990. His wife threatened to leave the actor at the height of his recent struggles with substance abuse, but the couple attempted to work out their marital problems on recent reality show Breaking Bonaduce--and Bonaduce will soon celebrate a year of sobriety.

For awhile I really thought they were going to make it, they seemed almost normal on The Other Half. That reality show was NOT a good idea. I feel really bad for the 2 kids. What a shame.

Can't say I'm really surprised...especially after seeing the show. On the one hand, I think she's put up with a lot and is practically a saint for doing so.

But I've heard others say that she should've left him a long time ago and is shallow because she stayed around and let them film their lives. I suppose there's something to be said for both viewpoints.

At any rate, I feel sorry for those kids - I hope they can rise above their parentage and not go down the road Danny did. Whether Danny is truly sober or not, I still think he has demons even beyond the drug and alcohol abuse that he can't or won't face up to.

I agree. Danny still has those moments of weakness which all persons who are addicts have to deal with. He also has anger issues. I really wish they could have worked things out, they both tried. At least they can say that. How many couples, especially couples in the limelight can say they TRIED? Not many.

You mean the king of destruction is losing his battle to be in control of his wife? I am suprised she put up with as much as she did, he was on the view one time and one of the girls really tore into him saying that he was pathetic if he thought that the media displaying his path to destruction was entertaining, she almost walked off of the show. Can't say i would have blamed her. she said to him that she was ashamed of him and she looked like she was going to get sick from being in the same room as him, she also remarked that his wife should leave him. I was suprised that danny just sat there quiet when she was saying this to him. Well danny I guess your finally getting whats been coming, now that you won't have your ex wife to try and control, mabe just mabe you will get a life at last.

Possibly, but given Danny's past ways of dealing with anger and depression, he could very well fall off the wagon and go on another drink and drug binge. I hope not, for Danny's sake. I also hope that despite whatever anger and bitterness may exist between Danny and Gretchen, they can find a way to work together and be civil for the sake of their two kids. His daughter is almost a teenager and this is not a good time for this to happen. Then again, is it ever a good time for this kind of thing??

Years ago, I read Danny's book and found it entertaining and funny. Danny's self-deprecating wit and matter-of-fact accounts of the episodes of his lurid past made the book fun to read. From the conclusion of the book, I was under the impression that Danny had come to terms with his past, his demons and was enjoying his family life. But I guess his demons have never truly gone away. I just hope that Danny doesn't end up Another overdose Celebrity Death.

He really is a talented and funny man...but I don't think he sees that.

After reading his book, and watching him on various talk shows and in interviews over the years, he comes across as a very intelligent guy, but he seems to have a self-destructive streak a mile wide. Frankly, I'm surprised his wife has lasted this long. I wish 'em both the best.
