One of the reasons Bonanza was so great was they sometimes did a silly episode. "Hoss and the Leprecauns" was one I saw as a kid(I think 1964).
Recently I was lucky enough to see it again for the first time in over 40 years. Great writing, great acting. |

This was a hilarious episode. No one would believe that Hoss had really seen "little men"! And they didn't believe until they saw them for themselves. It's great that the people who made Bonanza didn't take themselves too seriously and were able to do a silly episode like this once in a while!
