Default Governor & JJ

I have 9 episodes of this sitcom, but would like
more. Anyone have 'em? I loved this show in
the sixties and early seventies.

Default GOV & JJ

I have ten total episodes, including one absolutely perfect copy w/o/c of
RUN, BALLERINA, RUN. Most are from the 2nd season. I'd love to get the whole set of 39 one day. I loved the show during its brief run on CBS 1969-1971 (and a brief run of reruns during the summer of 1972). Many of the episodes, including the one about the leopard running loose in the governor's mansion, and the "old flame" whom the governor doesn't remember, and the one with Lyle Waggoner as Garrett Spalding are still very vivid memories, although I haven't seen them in close to 40 years. I have episode # 1 (THE SECOND FIRST LADY), and recently got to view episode # 3 at the UCLA Film Library.

If you have a copy of PS I Don't Love You and it is an excellent recording, I would be interested in buying a copy from you. Let me know.

Hi! I'm new to the site - was searching for Gov & JJ - my favorite comedy as a child. I'm not sure what I have to trade that would be of interest, but I'd love to work out something for some dvd's of the show! (Cash, maybe?). Thanks!

How often did actual state governors make cameo appearances on this show? I have seen a picture of Ark. Governor Winthrop Rockefeller appearing on this show (holding a baby pig!), and I also remember a TV Guide listing where Utah governor Calvin Rampton appeared. Was it only a few times or more frequent? I would love to know, and I would love to get a chance to see this sitcom once at least. This show holds a place in sitcom history, since its mid-season cancellation (end of Dec. 1970), followed by a timeslot shift for To Rome with Love, made room on CBS Tuesday night for a mid-season replacement, following The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, & Hee-Haw(!), of All in the Family.

I never watched the show when it was on as I rarely watched CBS shows. I was an ABC guy. However, when I had the chance to pick a bunch of them up on 16mm, I grabbed it and I think its a very funny, very well written show. It won a Golden Globe for best comedy but the show has never been repeated.

It wasn't till I saw Matlock that I saw Julie Sommars again. It was a long stretch til she came back to tv.

Julie Sommars also appeared on the Disney movie "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo", where her character was a racer whose car fell in love with Herbie. I also saw her in an episode of Fantasy Island, where she played the wife of Larry Linville's character, who had a fantasy to "make things happen". Carol Lynley made one of her many FI appearances, this time as a villainess, in this same episode.

I'd love to track down as large a set as possible. Multi-cam shows are my niche, and this one sounds like a winner. Please message if you can help me out!
