Who do you think was one of the hardest working sitcom characters? Whether it is was a hard job or long hours or a stressful job situation.

That's easy, it would have to be James Evans from Good Times.

Hawkeye Pierce, M*A*S*H.
36 straight hours in surgery, fool around with a nurse, screw with Frank's head and then close down the officer's club. And then do it all again the next day for 11 seasons.

Darrin Stephens -- overworked and underappreciated by one of the pushiest bosses in sitcom history, Larry Tate. All this while dealing with his wacky, witchly in-laws!!

Well we all know Carol Brady is out of the running.
![]() I think I'll back up Hawkeye. He did work hard and every time he tried to get some sleep, Radar would come in and wake him up so he could operate some more. As for stressful job, I'd say Dave Nelson from "NewsRadio." The proof is in the episodes. In the beginning, Dave came to WYNX fresh-faced, happy and eager, and by the end of the show he hated everybody, was cranky and hated his job. Of course, if you had to go to work and had to deal with Andy Dick everyday, and a staff that never works, you'd be stressed out too.

I think Archie Bunker was a hard working fellow too, working on the loading
dock and driving Munson's cab part-time. But after he took over the bar, he didn't seem to work as hard. |

Charles from Charles In Charge...but then again...taking care of two families could lead anyone stressed out and tired. Just kidding...Scott never had a wrinkle in his life and seem free-spirited than most of the family. Though Mrs. Powell seems to work much longer than Mrs. Pembroke.
Which is why we never see her in the house at all in the later seasons.

I thought Jo from The Facts of Life was pretty hard-working for a teenager.
