Just a heads up there is a new show coming to Court TV called the Wrong Man. The first episode is about the Darlie Routier case.
It premiere's on April 6th Court TV 10pm eastern time. Check your local listings for time. Below is the description of the episode. Darin and Darlie Routier were happily married with three young children, living in an upscale suburb of Dallas, Texas. But one night in 1996, Darlie and her two sons were stabbed in their own home. Darlie says that she fought off the intruder, who escaped from the house after brutally attacking her and killing her two children. She had bruises and stab wounds on her forearms and neck. But police soon became suspicious of the mother. Bloodstains invisible to the eye were found in and around the sink indicating a clean-up of the crime scene. Then Darlie’s fingerprints are found on the murder weapon. She convicted of murder and sits on death row for a crime she says she did not commit. Now, new evidence suggests that not only may Darlie be innocent, but her husband, Darin, might be the one responsible for the murders. |

Weird. TV Guide.com had it as The Investigators, but you are right. It's a new and interesting true crime show on Court TV that doesn't involve psychics or a Desperate Housewives-like presentation. "The Wrong Man?", I hope it lasts long. It reminds me of the Special Appeal segments of UM, but it's an hour long, so it gets even more in depth. I thought the Forensic Files episode of this case showed the blood evidence, and the evidence of chairs and a vacuum cleaner being tossed around to show a staging of the scene sealed the deal for me as her being the killer or being in on it with her husband. Plus the neighborhood they lived in was isolated in a suburbian culde-sac with no escape routes for burglars and how a burglar had to kill children rather than slip away without being seen. A murder charge is a hell of alot more terrible than a burglary or home invasion charge. Her husband Darin was looking for someone to burglarize their house and that avenue was touched upon in this show, but they never questioned him about that in the show. Maybe he did it and tried to kill her, then ran upstairs and left her for dead. That would be severely f---ed if he did that too her and watched as she got wrongly convicted and executed for it. I still think the Forensic Files episode was the most concise and laid out the facts of the physical evidence at the crime scene.
