Well the cell phone that I use it an unknown brand, a Pantech. I got it free when I signed up online with Verizon and I know those free phones are usually pretty ****ty but mines lasted well over a year and still works great. I probably won't get a new phone until I move and switch to a new network (I really want to get T-Mobile because their phones operate both here and in Europe and I go back and forth a lot)

Well, i'm happy with my motorola. I was thinking about getting a blackberry, but, I really don't need it. I pretty much use my phone to make short calls to home or make appointments.

At the moment, none. We are 'between' cell phones, partly because we're moving in three months, plus we just let our contract with T-Mobile expire in February. We had a simple Samsung phone with them. Just one phone, for emergencies--and calling relatives back east with the unlimited weekend minutes.
I know this thread is about the phone and not the service, but we were dissatisfied with the service. It wasn't with T-Mobile, per se, but these independent local stores who sell T-Mobile services but are not under the direct control of the T-Mobile company. They promised rebates and stuff, but reneged on it later. In our case, the contract in our hands was worthless, since the phone 'store' where we got the phone, closed up shop and didn't let anyone know. I think there's a class-action suit against the store (lots of luck, right?). Of course, the T-Mobile company disavows any connection whatsoever with the store. So, as I said earlier, we are currently w/o cell phone or service. We're moving to Monterey, California and I have to see what's available in that area, service-wise. I know Verizon is, and I haven't heard anything negative about them so far, at least. As for the phone itself, I'd like one that is thin, flip up, with camera capabilties, that maybe can download one's e-mail and MP3 files. Is there such a phone out there like that, and yet is fairly simple to use? There just seems to be so many products out there it is mind boggling. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear your experience and knowledge in this area. Thanks, Yooch (Gene) |

I don't know...some flip phone thru Virgin Mobile. I think maybe Audiovox made it. The camera isn't too spectacular, but it's a camera in a phone...how good is it going to be?

Got it. You were describing your phone, right? Not recommending one necessarily. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
