How awesome is that?
I'm really curious as to how old they were when they got married, tho, since the article doesn't say.My grandparents married in 1941, just a little over two months before Pearl Harbor - so they've been married for 65 1/2 years now. My grandma was 17 (almost 18) and my grandpa was 26 (almost 27) when they wed... so now my grandpa is in his early 90s. I'll be really surprised if they make it to 70 years, considering he'll be 96 by then (if he's still alive). ![]() Nowadays - no 17 year old female would get married to a 26 year old male. Heh. |

Aww that's so cute. I love looking at the anniversaries in the paper and seeing who's been married the longest. It's fun looking at their wedding pictures and pictures of them now.

That's so sweet. My husband's parents were married for 59 years. My parents almost made it to 50 years. My mother died in March of 2002. They would have been married 50 years two months later, that May...then my father died later that month.
