I know this is not exactly along the lines of UM, but I think out of all the bizarre segments and characters ever featured on UM, that none came close to those 3 family members that abducted and murdered that little boy that recently went missing. I'm not sure where it was but the details had to do with the father and son taking turns raping him while the mother watched and did stuff to herself. Another freak helped them afterwards. I don't know but these people make Elain Parent look like a saint.

Whoa, what was this case? Admitedly, I don't watch the news all that often - it's too depressing. Plus, I can only tolerate so much coverage on things like the Anna Nicole Smith case before my head bursts.

This is what the wikipedia site says about the case: Christopher Barrios Jr. (January 2, 2001 - March 8, 2007) was a 6-year-old boy who was molested and murdered by a convicted sex offender and his parents in Brunswick, Georgia on March 8, 2007. His body was discovered on March 15th, 2007 just a few miles from where he disappeared. George Edenfield, David Edenfield and Peggy Edenfield are all accused of Christopher's abduction and murder, and are awaiting trial on capital murder charges. A fourth person, Donald Dale, is accused of concealing the death of another person and tampering with evidence. In May 1997, George Edenfield was convicted of two counts of child molestation and given probation. In September 2006, he was indicted for violating his probation by living less than 1,000 feet (300 m) from a park in downtown Brunswick, and was ordered to move. On March 5, 2007, days before Christopher was abducted, Edenfield was sentenced to 10 years probation. A state law banning convicted sex offenders from living within a thousand feet of parks, playgrounds, child-care facilities, schools, churches, swimming pools and school bus stops, was passed in 2006. However, the school bus stop provision was blocked by a federal judge pending his decision in a suit claiming this provision to be unconstitutional. George Edenfield and his family lived within just a few feet of a school bus stop that Christopher regularly used to go to school. I found this on a blog: At around 4:00 p.m. EST Thursday, a Georgia Game Warden saw some tire tracks just off the side of the road leading to the Glynn County Airport and it raised his suspicion. To him, it appeared that someone had stopped, but had “peeled out” in a hurry, digging deeper trenches in the dirt shoulder. So he stopped, got out, and found the body of a child stuffed into a trash bag. The child was quickly identified as young Christopher Barrios, Jr., the 6-year-old child abducted in Brunswick, Georgia one week ago. Not surprisingly, not one single “tip” provided by George Edenfield, nor his mother (Peggy), nor his father (David) , nor his family’s “friend” (Donald Dale) helped authorities and volunteers find Christopher’s body. Far from it. But they’ve dug their own graves through their incessant lies. Now Glynn County plans on charging all four with murder. In reality, only one of them will likely be charged with First Degree Murder, and the remaining three will face Third Degree Murder for being accessories to the crime for knowing the child had been abducted and doing nothing to help Christopher. All they did was their best in throwing about confusion. Oh, and at least one of them bagged the child up and tossed him on the side of the road. Do you believe their incredible stories and their multitude of wild goose chases were because they were confused? Hell, no! They were doing everything they could think of to PREVENT police and the volunteer searchers from finding Christopher’s body. Each person had a different story. Each started off claiming they knew nothing at all, then somehow knew where the child could be found. And each person sent police to a different location. Edenfield’s mother, as recently as this morning, insisted that Christopher was buried in the woods right there within a mere few hundred yards of the mobile home park. But Christopher wasn’t. He was found three miles away. There is no accident or mistake or even surprise to me in their crazy tales. I find it rather incomprehensible also to discover that George Edenfield, convicted of molesting two young Brunswick boys in 1997, was senteced to serve two strict paroles of ten years concurrently. No jail time following his conviction. Wow! I guess molesting children is not such a big deal to that county court! The judge who signed Edenfield’s sentencing order has some serious explanations to offer, and local voters had better tell him to kiss his elected bench goodbye. This article has a story and pictures of the killers: http://www.news4jax.com/news/11241561/detail.html I don't think the boy was related, I think he was a neighbor of the killers, but every article I've read is written so poorly, that they make it sound like he either could have been placed with his dad by the court and that the dad is the killer or that it was a neighbor who was the killer. The killer and the victim's dad both have sex offender records. The dad's record is from when he was in his 20s and had something to do with an underage female. This murderer's offense had to do with two little boys and he should have been locked up, but got ten years probation or something. I'll have to go read more to be certain. |
