Default Three Daughters

Three Daughters

This sitcom focuses on Mike and Allison Banks (Christopher Meloni, Amy Yasbeck), an average blue-collared Cleveland couple who have three headstrong daughters: Hailey Banks, 21 (Emily VanCamp), Chelsea Banks, 19 (Evan Rachel Wood), and Megan Banks, 17 (Joy Lauren). Mike is a Cleveland firefighter/EMT/paramedic who absolutely loves his job and the pressures that come with the job. Allison is a loan officer for a local bank. Mike and Allison's longtime married best friends, Doug and Kelly Burkhardt (Greg Kinnear, Teri Hatcher), who have been best friends with the Banks ever since their college days. Doug and Kelly have no children together-Doug works with Mike as an EMT/paramedic/firefighter also, and Kelly runs the local floral shop downtown. Well for Mike and Allison, their lives are about to be thrown into a whirlwind, after learning what their daughters have each been up to. Hailey is dating a married man--Doug (her dad's best friend)... and Chelsea announces she is a lesbian and wants to move in with her new girlfriend/lover, Nikki Raymond (Nikki Reed) into her apartment across town... and Megan is three weeks pregnant and the father of the baby is her best guy friend, Aaron Stevens (Justin Berfield)-who happens to be gay who just wanted to experiment heterosexual sex (but now is becoming a father). Mike and Allison must deal with their three daughters and each of their very different situations, which is causing the family some stress.

Default Episodes

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Mike and Allison are shocked and overwhelmed when they recieve news from Chelsea about her new chosen lifestyle and wanting to move in with her lover across town, and news from Megan about her becoming pregnant by Aaron (who is mortified when she has to inform her parents how she and Aaron had gotten pregnant-after they know Aaron is gay). Also, Doug confides in Mike during work, that he is having an affair with someone other than Kelly. Mike is beyond words and asks who the mistress is, Doug quickly changes subjects. (But at the very end of the episode), Mike oversees Doug leaving work to get in a car that looks very familiar to him--then he notices it's Hailey's car (and puts two-and-two together).

Ep2: Confrontations:
Mike and Allison have a talk with Hailey and end up hearing a confession from Hailey as to if she and Doug are having an affair. Hailey informs her parents that she and Doug are in love and there's nothing they can do to stop them. Meanwhile, Megan accompanies Aaron as he prepares to tell his parents that he will become a father in nine months. Aaron's parents are extremely up-in-arms about the new news, yet try to be supportive after they realize that Aaron is going to stick by Megan's side (even though they aren't in love, but still best friends).

Ep3: Acceptance:
Mike and Allison are trying to grasp the concept of Chelsea and her sudden announcement of her new chosen alternative lifestyle. Mike and Allison give Chelsea their blessing and approval to moving out and in with her lover, Nikki. Yet they insist on meeting Nikki first, and having her over for supper one night with the family. Chelsea preps Nikki for dinner with her family. The night isn't as glamorous as they had planned: Mike informs Megan that until she gives birth, she can not date anyone (which doesn't settle well with her) and Allison gives Hailey an ultimatum: end the affair or she will tell Kelly (which infuriates Hailey greatly).

Ep4: The News And More News:
Chelsea and Nikki join a protest against women's inequality in the workplace (after Nikki's boss openly admits he favors the guys rather than the girls). The girls and fellow women's rights activists, and their very public protest makes it on the news as a top story. Nikki gives a speech on camera, thats leads even more contraversy. Meanwhile, Kelly learns from her doctor's visit, that she is pregnant. An estatic Kelly tells Doug that she is pregnant, soon after a perplexed Doug makes a frantic call to Hailey, who is anything but happy when Doug talks about sticking by Kelly since she is having his baby.

Ep5: Baby, Oh Baby:
Kelly and Doug share their news of having a baby with the Banks family. Mike, Allison, Chelsea, Nikki, and Megan are thrilled beyond words for Kelly and Doug, yet they learn that Hailey is extremely pissed with Doug and refuses to show any happiness for the couple. Meanwhile, Aaron starts to look into finding a good-paying, part-time job that he can have while still going to school (to save up money for his and Megan's child).

Ep6: Putting It Off:
Allison decides to putt off telling a newly-pregnant, about Doug and Hailey's on-going affair, until a better timing. Hailey still remains furious and stubbornly upset with Doug, and refuses to even talk to him--unless he makes the decision to leave Kelly for her. Doug is thrown into an awkward situation, and awkwardly talks it over with his best friend, Mike- who still isn't too fond of his married best friend being romantically involved with his eldest daughter. Meanwhile, Megan and Aaron get the blessing of co-parenting their unborn child together from Aaron's college-aged liberal sister, Chloe (Margo Harshman)-who convinces Aaron that this may be his own real chance at fatherhood besides adoption (since he is gay).

Ep7: Embrace It:
Nikki, Chelsea, and Aaron travel to Philadelphia for its annual Gay's Rights Pride and Festival for the weekend. The trio enjoy the weekend the best of the abilities, until Nikki and Chelsea get mugged while in the crowds. Meanwhile, Aaron finds himself falling for a fellow festival participant, Luke (Rami Malik)-who is openly gay Philly native. Elsewhere, Mike and Allison go out to eat with Doug and Kelly, where the fact about Doug and Hailey is broughten up on accident during dinner-luckily Kelly is preoccupied with ordering from the menu to have paid attention to the trio's side conservation.

Ep8: Baby Docs, Biological Clocks:
Megan and Kelly turn out to have the same OBGYN, Dr. Graves (Stephen Collins). Meanwhile, Kelly fears that her age will count against her during her time of delivery and negatively affect her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Doug has a talk with Hailey, which leads to Hailey giving him an ultimatum: Hailey or Kelly, not both!

Ep9: Communciation, Good or Bad:
Chelsea and Nikki can't help but be happy for Aaron-who is still keeping in contact with Luke from Philly. Meanwhile, Mike gets into hot water with Allison when he comes home late and drunk from a night out with Doug, and neglecting to call his wife to inform her that he was going out with Doug after work. Elsewhere, Hailey tries her hand at entering the dating realm of single people her own age, and gets off to a bad start--after accepting to go on a blind date with a guy who is extremely immature, loud, and insensitive yet is very handsome and attractive looking.

Ep10: Spread The Rumors On Thick:
Around town, there's a rumor going around that Megan slept with a hunky teacher (Duane Martin) and had gotten pregnant. Megan and Aaron set out and find out who started the rumor--turns out it was Aaron's own mom, Donna (Mo Gaffney), who later apologizes to both her son and Megan, and reveals that she isn't as comfortable with the situation as she so claimed to be. Aaron and Donna have a sit-down heart-to-heart chat. Elsewhere, Hailey finds herself alone and depressed after finding out that Doug has chosen to stay with Kelly and be a part of his wife and unborn child's lives.

Ep11: Let's Try Goodbye:
Hailey's heartache and jealousy becomes too much for her to handle, so she decides to go on a road trip-yet runs into Chelsea and Nikki in the process who decide to join Hailey. Meanwhile, Mike invites Aaron to join him and Doug as they go on their annual ice fishing trip, which leads to mayhem when Mike and Doug become awkward with the fact of changing in the same room as openly gay Aaron--who later clears the air and decides to leave. Mike and Doug end up feeling bad and go after him, and must come to terms with their own prejudices and the often misconceptions of gays.
