....from the first season to the last..... robbery, and theft were reoccuring themes on the show.....
From the fake robbery, which earned Fred a citatation for bravery ( SPUNK! )....to Grady's TV.....to Julio's goat.....all the way to the last one where Fred thinks they were robbed and buys all the tacky furniture with the insurance money.... |

My favorite scene was when officer Swanny asked Fred if the robbers were colored. Fred looked at him like he was stupid and said, "Yes.....white" The studio reacted liked that line was add-libbed. That was so classic! |

That's one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. ALOT of great lines and one-liners. I really liked the studio audience in seasons 1 and 2. They were really WILD and added to the fun and spontaniety (sp?) of the shows.

I don't remember any explosions from the crowd on Sanford and Son from season 1 like I do on Good Times and the Jeffersons |

I think they were really wild in the episode "The Suitcase Case". I remember when the robber was arrested it was one of the first times Fred did his "fighting" stance, saying "Hold him, Brother Smith. Hold him!" and later, as they were dragging the guy out the door, Fred said "I'm glad they held on to him, 'cause if I got to him, I'd have had to hurt him" and the audience was laughing like crazy. They got even wilder in season 2, of course.

I think S&S's audience was live and more restrained than those two shows. If they weren't they probably would have been a knock off. But like Jeff mentioned, the audience really did reacted than they normally did. You really had to listen. |

The only time I remember the Audience going crazy was when Lamont was in the alley going crazy trying to scare that tall bald headed man who had punched him in the nose |

My favorite robbery episode was when Julio's place got hit and the robbers tell Fred, "You don't know, and You don't want to know".

Does any one remember the episode of "All in the Family," where Demond Wilson plays a burglar? I think that was his first TV appearance......
