Default Gambling on a Sitcom

Name some shows that had gambling in a episode, it could be a friendly card
game or a visit to a casino or a bet between characters.

Three's Company. When Chrissy is selling cosmetics, she goes to Furley's apt. where Larry and Jack along with Furley and two girls, they are playing cards.

Also, Jack goes to a charity gambling casino event, not realizing it was fake money.

I Love Lucy goes to Monte Carlo and wins big time and then loses the money later.

Also, in Be A Pal, she wants to learn to play poker with the boys and so she does.

It's not a sitcom but at least 2 episodes of The Twilight Zone had a gambling theme.

A Game of Pool starring Jack Klugman & Jonathan Winters, Jesse Cardiff (Klugman) Challenges the undisputed billiards champion, Fats Brown (Winters) to one game, If Jesse wins, He becomes the greatest. If he loses, He dies.

The Silence: A man fed up with the constant chatter of a fellow club member makes him a bet of $500,000 that he cannot remain silent for one year.

Cheers had gambling when Coach loses all of his money to an old friend and the gang recruits Harry the Hat to win it all back.

The Odd Couple had several episodes of the guys playing Poker

Taxi had Louie Depalma's brother win all of the gang's money in Poker.

Newsradio - Jimmy loses Bill in a station owners poker game and Lisa plays poker with the guy who won to try and win Bill back.

In another episode of Newsradio, Matthew wants to learn how to be a gambler so he can be one of the guys and he ends up betting with Joe and loses a bunch of bets including the classic "guess which hand the pencil is in".

Taxi - A lot of gambling on this show. Several episodes had Louie betting against the other cabbies, mainly on the outcome on Tony's fights. He lost most of the time.

There was also an episode where Jim gets addicted to betting on horse races and he wins $10,000 and he ends up buying the horse that won the race.

Another episode had Louie betting against Bobby to see who could bring in the most money in one shift, Louie or Alex.

And theres an episode where Alex goes to Atlantic City and gets hooked on gambling. He finally snaps out of it after he realizes he stole Jim's last dollar.

FRIENDS-in the Las Vegas episode, where Joey said he found his "identical hand twin" Ross and Rachel got drunk and got married, among other things.

THE ODD COUPLE-the time Felix had Oscar show him how to gamble; then Felix got addicted to it.

On The Mary Tyler Moore Show:

I seem to remember Mary Richards playing poker with Lou, & the gang. Does anyone recall that episode?

Also Lou babysit Bess on the show & they used cookies to bet on a card game.

Family Ties had an episode where they went to Atlantic City. The Simpsons had one too where Mr. Burns had a casino built, Marge became addicted to gambling.

There is also another one from 3's company when Mr. Roper finds out Chrissy is going to Vegas for a business trip and gives her money to play blackjack with.

Would "The Return of Mr. Garrett" count as a gambling episode, too, in Facts of Life? Since Mrs. Garrett's ex was teaching them how to gamble...

There was a first season ep of Frasier where Martin was having his poker buddies over. He told Frasier two were cops and one was an ex-con. Martin bet Frasier money (I don't remember how much) that he couldn't guess which one was the ex-con. Of course, Frasier lost.

Coach also had an ep set in Vegas and I think Luther was cleaning up with the slot machines (for awhile, anyway. ).
