What If... (Go Ahead, Check This Out, I Know You Want To..) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What if the series finale was really just a season finale? If Tim Daly and Crystal Bernard had decided to leave the show, and it was just their final episode - not the final episode for the series?

Make up some ideas for how you'd have the ninth season be. And also, would you even watch "Wings" at that point? I mean with Joe, Helen (and don't forget Lowell) gone, what's the point? But this is supposed to be a fun thread, so try and be creative for the ninth season.

I'll post my ideas in a bit.

Brian, Casey, and Antonio would become the main trio. Brian would run Sandpiper while Casey and Antonio run the lunch counter. (Antonio more so than Casey, of course...)

Kenny would return to Sandpiper to take Joe's place.

Fay and Roy would remain pretty much the same. Fay would get a new love interest (One who isn't named George!) and Roy would deal with the fact that he is going to be a grandfather soon. (He abhors the thought of RJ and his husband having a child together until he sees his baby granddaughter's face.)

A female mechanic would be added to the cast and Brian and Antonio fight over her like Brian and Joe used to compete for Helen and Alex. She finally chooses one of them. Who will it be? You'll have to wait until season 10 to find out!

Ooh, I like those ideas! I always thought it would've been interesting to see Brian try to run Sandpiper on his own, w/o Joe's help. We know it's possible, since Joe did it by himself before Brian showed up, but Brian's not Joe, LOL.

I think it would be funny to see Brian be the straight man for once!

I was thinking that too. Like (in my version) Brian hires a partner to help him run Sandpiper, and that guy would be irresponsible, and Brian would start to take it seriously (much like he did in "Joe Blows"). He'd still be Brian, of course, but with much more of a business sense.

I think it would have been interesting to see which of the three remaining guys (Brian, Antonio, and Roy) would have stepped up to fill the void left by Joe. I also think it would have been interesting to see Brian and Antonio develop the same type of relationship that Brian and Joe had.

I would have season 9 starting off with Brian and Roy merging to create one airline under the Aeromass name.

The old airport would get a facelift and new people would be brought (New mechanic, car rental person, lunch person) in while most of the regulars stay.

I would also have a storyline where Antonio gets deported and leaves the series near the end of the season, writing him out of the show.

thats all I could think of..
