Tony orlando tells Isabel Sanford that she reminds him of Esther Rolle on Stage - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

During isabel sanford apperance on the Tony orlando and dawn show, Tony says to isabel sanford-"You remind of Esther Rolle". Now Esther Rolle and Isabel sanford were two of my favorite actors but they did not look anything alike. Yes they were both dark skin and chunky but they ddi not resemble each other at all in my opinion. I also remember Isabel saying on a reunion show in 1991 that everyone thinks she is esther rolle-lol I have no idea why

What was Isabel's response to Tony saying that?

Well, you know they have rehearsals and of course he met her PRIOR to the show. It was all set-up. Just like the show where they had Freddie pretend to be Tony. IT'S ENT-TER-TAINMENT.

BTW, did you ever see Isabel's appearance on Roseanne? I wish she had more lines on that episode.

She can appear on Roseanne but not 227? Very ODD
