Default Does the weather/climate in your area affect how you feel physically/mentally?

Ever since I injured my back, whenever it gets cold, whether it's raining or just plain cold, my back will hurt. Today, it is somewhat chilly outside and most of the day my right knee has been aching. I already took some meds for the pain. I am wearing sweats and keeping warm trying to alleviate the pain. I used to hear that cold weather can bring abt pain of different sorts, now I believe it because it happens to me.

Oh yes, the cold causes terrible arthritis flare-ups for me. I think it's one of the reasons retired people move to warmer climates. Irene, I've tried all the pain patches going, and the I've found this one is best. My husband has one on his knee now. The heat is so soothing, and they have medicine in them too.

I've found that extreme heat makes me get migraines moreso than any other climate. It really sucks

Yeah, I have tried the numerous patches. I agree, that Ben-Gay patch does wonders. I used it when my neck was hurting real bad. It is sooo soothing.

Erm, well...it's never affected the way I've felt physically, but yeah emotionally. I really do notice a difference between a crappy, cloudy day and a sunny day.

I agree. I hate extreme heat with a passion. I can actually get nauseous during a heatwave, and like you said, headaches too.

I enjoy heat. What I hate is the humidity that may accompany it. When we went to Las Vegas, it was 100 degrees BUT the heat was so dry, it was comfortable. I really enjoyed it. The heat we get here can cause my allergies to flare up.

I get very sleepy on gray, rainy days. I also suffer from seasonal allergies, and it's horrible. My eyes itch and burn, then I can't stop sneezing!!

I'm much happier during the Spring and Summer, then I am during the Winter and Fall. It use to be the opposite though. When I was housebound for over 8 years, I was depressed when the nice weather came, because I wasn't able to get out and enjoy it. But now that I can, I absolutely love this time of year!!

Yeah. My allergies are horrible and all the cloudy, cold weather makes me depressed. But then I can be depressed in sunshine too. Rainy weather gives me headaches.

This may sound strange but for me mentally when the winter comes and it starts to get cold it affects my mood. The cold weather kind of depresses me a little and it is even hard for me to get out of bed in the morning sometimes because it is so cold you don't really want to get out and do anything. (January and February are the worse for me at least in November and December is the holiday seasons) But when the spring and summer come it makes my mood better, it is easier for me to even get out of bed in the morning.

That's not strange; seasonal depression is an actual medical affliction. A lot of people have it.

God, I agree with you. I just don't want to do ANYTHING. I think that is one reason I love hot weather so much. For some reason, when it gets real cold, it can bring on more headaches than I normally get.

I find winter to be depressing and the cold weather aggravates my back and knees. I'm a spring, summer and Fall person. The heat and humidity rarely bother me.

I don't notice any particular type of weather effecting me physically, but cloudiness depresses me.
