Default Anybody remember the "The Brady Kids"?

I watched the reruns of this cartoon in the late 70s when I wasn't old enough to know how hokey it was. The kids on their own in a treehouse with a magic myna bird and pet koala bears (Ping and Pong). Each show had them performing a song like The Partridge Family and had hokey plots involving Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Lone Ranger. I wouldn't mind seeing it again for pure nostalgia purpose.

I have them on DVD as well and while the animation is cheap, they do have their charm, mostly in the fact that the kids do all the voices.

While its not the first thing on the shelf that I'd grab to watch, I'll pop one in once in a while. Didn't they use a lot of the animation from the Archie's cartoons?

Oh, I noticed that, too, almost like the animators traced the original "Archies" musical animations, so you get, like, Marcia playing keyboards and bobbing her head up and down exactly like Veronica, while Greg is on guitar, swishing his head side to side exactly like Archie.

How cheap is THAT?

Yeah, filmation was all about cost cutting. They used the same shots over and over in all their cartoons.

LOL, it doesn't get any cheaper!

Also, when I saw a clip of them "playing" a song, it looked to me like Cindy was about 2 feet tall...she was about up to Greg's kneecap in height... (she could have used the attic room, even back when it was "2 and 1/2 feet tall").

I never watched the cartoon when it was on... I was 14 when the BB went off the air, and I wasn't interested in seeing them in cartoon form. And I think I made the right decision, the cartoons just look stupid...what with the panda bears and the magic bird and all...

Not to mention the Panda Bears spoke in some sort of gibberish that was suppoosed to be Chinese I guess - which probably wouldn't be considered very PC nowadays.

Ha. That does sound cheap. But what do you expect from the groovy 70's, the era of bubblegum rock?

Ah yes, they had "Mop top" along with "Ping and Pong the Pandas", it seems logical to me that if a Panda could talk it would speak the language of the people in the country it came from, just as parrots speak the language spoken around them.

Of course, it the Pandas were born or raised in the United States then logically they would speak English

I don't see what the big deal is. If Pandas talked they would probably speak Chinese, just as Balaam's Ass spoke Hebrew!
