Chapter 1- A Day Gone Wrong

Danny Fenton walked down the halls of Casper High looking for his longtime girlfriend Sam Manson. He finally spotted her with their best friend Tucker Foley and Valerie Gray, Tucker's girlfriend. He joined them as they began to chat excitedly about the upcoming school dance.

"I can't wait," Tucker said. "Hey, Danny, let's go shopping tonight and buy a couple of suits." The two boys began to jump up and down squealing like a couple of girls. Sam and Valerie rolled their eyes.

"Guys----" Valerie began but was interrupted by the loudspeaker.

"Will Daniel Fenton please come to the principal's office immediately! Thank you."

"Danny? What did you do?" Sam asked. "Slap my butt in the library? Oh no! You accidentally showed your butt in class today when you bent over!! How could you??" Sam grinned at her boyfriend.

"I don't know, I hope Dash isn't trying to get me into trouble again." His arch enemy, Dash Baxter had a habit of getting Danny blamed for things he didn't do. Slowly, Danny began to walk to the office Principal Ishiyama was waiting for him.

"Danny, Kwan said he saw you vandalizing school property and being responsible for the series of pranks occurring in Casper High. And since there are no witnesses saying you didn't, you are forbidden to attend the school dance and graduation."

"But--but..." Danny was shocked. He would never even consider vandalizing his own notebooks, let alone his school. Pranks were his cousin Dani's specialty, not his. And now Kwan was ruining his chance to graduate, his school dance and possibly his chance to attend Brown with Sam.

"But nothing," Ishiyama yelled. "Just go!"

Danny ran out of the office and almost ran over Mr Lancer. Danny swore the two were having an affair butshe was too upset to think at that moment. He ran home and right into his mother's arms replaying the story.

Maddie nearly choked on her coffee. "Where does that woman get the nerve--" she sputtered. "I'm calling her right now and giving that bitch a piece of my mind! No one gets away with treating my son like crap."

Danny was grateful for is mother's support but was still upset over the issue. He cuddled up in his bed with his toy Slimer after changing into his ghost pajamas and whispered "I wish I'd never been born."

Chapter 2- Meet Desiree

Danny tossed and turned, trying to fall asleep and put the horrible day behind him. Who did Ishiyama think she was accusing him of something so horrible? Maybe if she wasn't so busy playing "Bill and Monica" with Mr Lancer, she would see what really went on in Casper High. Danny sighed and stared outside wishing once again that he were never born. At that moment, a light shined in her room and an odd object flew in. Danny squinted but was able to make out to be the wishing ghost Desiree.

"Desiree?" asked Danny all the while wondering why he was talking to Desiree herself.

"Yes, Ghost Boy, it's me and I'm here to show you what life would be like without you."

"Probably better." Danny said.

"Well, we'll see about that," Desiree said. "Come with me and we will see how your family and friends would be if you weren't around."

Danny sighed and took Desiree's hand. This was going to be a long night.

Chapter 3- Those Surprising Fentons

Desiree led Danny downstairs. Danny was shocked.

"Where's all my stuff, pictures of me, anything at all of mine?" he demanded.

"You don't exist, this is how life would be without you." Desiree lead Danny into the kitchen where Maddie was sitting looking talking on the phone.

"No, Bill, the deal must be closed tomorrow or else," Maddie yelled. She was cut off by a girl tapping her on the shoulder. "Look, I've got to go and speak to my younger daughter. I'll call you later." she hung up and looked at the raven haired girl who was Dani herself and smiled.

"Younger daughter?" Danny asked. "Mom, what younger daughter?" But Maddie went on as if Danny hadn't spoken.

"Why won't---" Danny said but was interrupted by Desiree. The two stood behind Maddie as she was speaking to his third cousin twice removed Dani speaking to it softly.

"I'm sorry, Dani," said Maddie. "I haven't had anything from your father since he stormed out. He made a mistake and yet, he goes on living near Amity Park as if he was never married."

"I know, Mom," said Dani. "You gotta work five days a week to support me and Jazz which isn't fair to us."

"I know," said Maddie. "Ever since your father left, it's been us two and Jazz against the world. If only Jazz hadn't been out doing what I didn't want her to do, Jack would still be there for her...."

"Dad left? Jazz doing stuff Mom doesn't want her to do? What the hell's going on?" Danny screamed crying hysterically.

"Your sister Jazz got mixed up in the wrong crowd and went into prostitutuion to support herself while your mother got a job. You don't realize it but your cousin Dani admires you," Desiree paused. "As for your father, he was so distraught over your sister's lifestyle that he and your mother kept arguing about it until one day, he moved out and your mother demanded a divorce. You are the one person besides your mother who helps him through the pain he faces."

"I impacted Jazz's life? Dani's? My parents? But how?"

"You talk to them, you tell your cousin right from wrong by your actions and advice. They look up to you even though they don't show it. You are your parents pride and joy, without you, they are lost. But now it is time to see how life is for your sister if you weren't born."

Chapter 4- Random Scary Acts of Jasmine Fenton

Desiree and Danny left the Fenton home and headed for a place Danny never thought he would end up.

"Skid Row?" Danny was thoroughly confused. Jazz was devoted to Dash Baxter 100% ever since they began dating back in tenth grade after Danny, Sam and Tucker set them up on a blind date for Valentine's Day. Both Dash and Jazz were dateless so Danny asked Sam and Tucker to tell Jazz and Dash, respectively, to get dressed and meet them at the Digital Bean for an evening of fun. All four of them "coicidentally" ended up at the same table, much to the "surprise" of Sam and Tucker. Dash and Jazz caught on to their friends' plan and the rest was history. They had just celebrated their two year anniversary. So why was Jazz working the streets as a prostitute?

"Jazz, what are you doing?" he shouted

Then he remembered.

"You don't exist!" Desiree yelled. She paused and went on to explain the scene before them.

"Remember when you were in sixth grade and your sister Jasmine was in eight grade and Jazz was on a diet?" Danny nodded remembering that scary time when Jazz nearly became fat. "Well, she had nobody to help her with her problems and since without you, she and Dash never dated, she turned to drinking which led to her drug habit. Her parents soon disowned her and Jazz felt she had no choice but to become a hooker to support herself and her habit." Desiree turned to Danny. "She didn't have you to help her to tell her it was wrong and to give her support when she needed it. You're the best little brother she has and without you and since your father left, she is lost."

Danny paused. "Without me, she's a hooker with a drug problem---wow. I never knew I meant that much to her. I mean, we're pretty close but I had no idea."

"There's more," Desiree added. "Jazz also has AIDS. She contracted it though one of her johns and she only has a few weeks left. She's only working because she needs money for rent."

"Oh my god," Danny yelled. "I never knew, I never knew." He brushed tears away from his eyes and said "If I impacted Jazz that much, who knows about Sam, Tucker or Valerie." He looked up at Desiree and begged like a street orphan. "Can we see Tucker, can we please?"

Desiree looked at Danny and took a deep breath. "I don't know how to tell you this but Tucker's dead."

Chapter 5- A Tragic Tucker Story

"Dead?" Danny was unable to comprehend the fact that his best friend of 9 years would be dead without him.

"Tucker was killed while crossing the road going to see Valerie and has been cutting himself since in 8th grade. Without you, he had nobody to turn to. His parents were always off on business trips or work so he felt he had nothing." Desiree said as she took Danny to a room where only a few people were sitting.

"Tucker's funeral," Danny mused. "Wait, where are Tucker's parents?" He saw Grandma Foley, Tucker's other grandmother and other relatives but no Mr and Mrs Foley. "They were in a deep state of shocl to show up at their own son's funeral?"

"They were in too much shock. They couldn't believe their only child was dead. They couldn't handle it," Desiree said as she shook her head. "If you had been around, they would've handled it better."

Danny was puzzled by this. Tucker's parents liked him but since he wasn't black, they had a hard time accepting him. Why would they have been changed by him?

Almost as if she were reading his thoughts, Desiree explained "The Foleys like you more than you think. Because of you, they decided to work less and spend more time with Tucker ever since that time you talked to them in 10th grade when Tucker was upset about his father missing the father/son picnic."

Danny remembered that day. Tucker was looking forward to spending the day with his father at the annual Amity Park event. But Mr Foley had to work at the last minute leaving Tucker alone and angry. Luckily, Jack Fenton considered Tucker to be a second son and took him and Danny to the picnic. Danny, however, was outraged and marched over to the Foleys that very night and calmly explained how they were unintentionally hurting Tucker. The Foleys realized their behavior and slowly began a new relationship with their son. They were closer than ever and very happy.

Danny was so lost in thought, he almost didn't hear Desiree say "Time to go....it's time to visit Sam."

Chapter 6- Not Educating Sam

Desiree took Danny's hand and led him to the other side of town, the part where people like Sam and her parents lived.

"Just to warn you, what you are about to see is going to shock you." Desiree said as she glanced at Danny.

Danny was confused but followed Desiree into Sam's house. Once he got a look at his girlfriend of 3 years, he almost lost his lunch.

Sam was sitting at the kitchen table looking as if she had just woekn up. She was drinking a cup of hot chocolate and "reading" the latest issue of Playgirl.

"Sam honey, where are you?" a deep male voice called out.

"In here, Johnny." Sam responded tossing the magazine out the window.

Johnny, who was no taller than Danny, walked in and sat across from Sam and said "Look, Baby, I know why you felt you needed to drop out of high school but you need to do something with your life. Being a mechanic's awesome but you need the education as well."

"Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, guys dig female high school drop-outs. Who needs school?" said Sam as she got up and walked out of the room grabbing her leather jacket and walking out to her motorcycle where three handsome young men, who were about the same height as Johnny, were waiting for her.

"Sam dropped out of school?" Danny didn't understand. Danny had been tutoring Sam since the seventh grade and helped her realize she was "more than great hair." She was no Harvard scholor but she still had a respectable GPA and was planning on attending college to become a mechanic.

Desiree explained to Danny how Sam never had the confidence to finish school so she felt dropping out was the only thing to do. She felt nobody understood her and felt that no one would ever take the time to help her. She went on to explain to Danny that underneath her Leather Tuscadero attitude, Sam was actually suffering from depression. She had nobody to care about her and being a man eater was the only way she was able to feel loved. She also knew she would never be able to achieve her dreams without a high school diploma.

Danny was shocked that Sam would allow herself to become so depressed. He had no idea that tutoring her and being her friend would help her so much and impact his life as much as it did. Sam was his girlfriend of 3 years and one of his closest friends and it killed him that without him, she would suffer so much.

Danny wiped away his tears and asked Desiree to take him home.

"No," Desiree paused. "It is time to go and visit Valerie."

Chapter 7- My Convict Valerie

Danny stood in a trance wondering what impact he could have possibly had on his best friend Tucker's girlfriend of 3 years, Valerie Gray. Sure they had become close friends but he didn't think he did anything to actually help her.

"Danny." Desiree said as Danny looked up and saw Desiree waiting for him, He sighed, took her hand and went to where Desiree lead him.

"Oh my god, Amity Park Correctional Facility?" Danny asked, shocked that when he was there, he almost stopped breathing. "Why would you take me here? I'm supposed to see Valerie."

Desiree looked at Danny and lead him her down a dark creepy hallway where they soon came face to face with Valerie who was wearing a prison uniform and ankle cuffs.

Noting the shocked look on Danny's face, Desiree said "Desiree is here because she is waiting to be charged for 10 counts of theft and three accounts of shop lifting."

"What the Hell." Danny said but Desiree shushed him and continued.

"Valerie was forced into a life of crime by a girl she met three months ago before the winter formal and she had stolen from 10 people and stole from three different shops around Amity Park. Next week, she stands trial and is facing two and a half years in prison. Danny, when you revealed yourself as a half human-half ghost, she accepted you. Without you, she is lost which let him down a destructive path."

Dannt stood there with tears streaming down his face. He never knew he impacted so many lives. He just thought he was just there and no one noticed. He had no idea of the impact he had. He couldn't believe all the lives that would have been destroyed without him.

"I wannna got home," Danny yelled. He was ready to go home and face whatever problems came his way.

"No, there are two more people to visit." Desiree said as she grabbed onto Danny's hand and whisked him away.

Chapter 8- The Fall of the Paulina Empire

Desiree took Danny by the hand and lead him to one of Amity Park's richest neighborhoods, the one where Paulina lived. He hadn't seen Paulina's house in years not since the infamous party in eighth grade where her cousin Maria invited her friends round and ruined her birthday. Nothing seemed to have changed from the outside. Desiree took him inside which looked pretty much the way he remembered it, decorated so nicely, it would put Martha Stewart to shame. He couldn't see what was so bad until they got upstairs.

"Oh my God, Paulina!!" Danny yelled but Desiree pulled him back.

"She can't hear you! You don't exist remember?" said Desiree.

"Oh, right. But the girl is hurting herself! Why would she do that?" Danny asked as he stared in disbelief as he watched the most popular, idolized girl in school take a razor blade and cut her arms. Danny's eyes welled up in tears as he saw Paulina wipe away the blood crying uncontrollably.

Desiree looked at Danny and said "Paulina may be popular, but the truth is, she is harboring a secret that could ruin her life or she thinks it will. She is afraid people will turn on her and that she will lose everything You may not know it yet but you are the only one that is going to be able to help her. If you go back to your own life, you are going to be the one Paulina turns to, the one who will be able to get her the help she needs."

"Okay so can we go home now? I am ready to live. I am ready to accept that there are people out there who need me." said Danny.

Desiree shook her head and said "We have one more stop to make, we need to visit Dash Baxter."

Chapter 9- The Surprising Life of Dash

Desiree lead Danny back to Casper High where a high school reunion appeared to be taking place.

"This is all well and good but what does this have to do with Dash?" Danny demanded getting awfully annoyed at his supposed guardian angel. He was so sick of seeing how horrible people's lives ended up being without him. He got the point and now all he wanted to do was go home.

"Follow me." Desiree said as she began walking into the building.

"Why not?" Danny said sarcastically has he followed her into the room.

Once inside, Danny saw many of his sister Jazz and her old classmates, including Dash Baxter, Katie O'Hara and Claire Taylor. Dash and Claire seemed deep in conversation with each other and Danny was holding onto her arm.

"I didn't know those two would end up together. I should go congratulate them," Danny said walking up to the couple. Although he didn't really like either of them, he wanted to at least do the respectful thing and send his best wishes. At that moment, he felt someone yank the back of his shirt causing him to fall and let out a surprised yelp.

"Get it through your head, Ghost Boy, you don't exist," Desiree snapped. "Besides, I don't think that you should congratulate them even if you were real."

"Why, what are you talking about?" Danny asked feeling confused. What could have possibly happened to make Desiree not wanting him to send his best wishes? He felt herself being moved once again and a few moments later saw himself in the boys bathroom.

"Wow, the bathroom," Danny said rolling his eyes. "I thought I was supposed to be seeing how Dash needed me." He turned to leave when Desiree stopped him.

"Wait here." Desiree instructed. At that moment, the door swung open and Dash walked in, his face streaked with tears and a bruise on his cheek. The two watched as Dash walked to the mirror to wash up that Danny assumed Claire left.

"Oh my god, she attacks him, doesn't she?" Danny asked surprised Dash would allow himself to be in such a dangerous situation. Dash seemed so much smarter than that. So why was he allowing himself to be beaten up?

"Dash has been keeping a secret since the beginning of the year but didn't want anybody to know. Dash was being blackmailed by someone which is why he has been getting you into trouble. That's why Ishiyama didn't believe you. Dash felt he had no choice but to point all the evidence towards you," Desiree paused. "The person blackmailing Dash threatened to broadcast his secret if he didn't do as he was told and that included getting you into trouble. You will find everything out soon if you decide to continue on with your life and realize how much people at home need you."

Danny thought for a moment as he watched Dash fix his hair. Even though he hated Dash, there had to be a reason why he was doing what he was doing. There was also no way Dash was going to let him suffer like that. Nobody, not even someone as jerkish and mean as Dash deserved to be in such an stormy relationship. He took one last look at Dash's crying face and came to a decision.

"Desiree? I'm ready to go home." Danny said taking a deep breath, the events of the day swirling around his brain. He had no idea how much power he had in helping others and that people actually needed and loved him. He took one last look back on the life he was about to save and followed Desiree back to his bedroom where he saw three people waiting for him.

Chapter 10- Confessions

Danny woke up shocked to see Dash and Kwan sitting in his room waiting for him.

"What's going on?" Danny asked confused and still unable to shake the events of the day.

"We came to apologize, you see, we blamed you because of something that happened to us, and we now realize how wrong we were." Kwan said as he pushed his hair out of his eyes.

"What happened?" Danny asked hoping they had a good excuse for ruining his life or at least attempting to.

"Well, you know how you are salutatorian?" Dash asked. Danny nodded wondering what that had to do with anything. "Well, apparently, Lancer was jealous and recruited us to make sure you got suspended by pulling a series of pranks and whatnot and making sure you got the blame. Then, all he'd have to do was make kissy faces at Ishiyama and get what he wanted." As he said this, Dash looked at Danny hoping that he believed them.

"Okay, so? What does that have to do with you? Why did she recruit you?" Danny asked mad that they would pull such a stunt.

"Cause he had blackmail on both of us and threatened to blab if we told on him, not only about the pranks but about his affair with Ishiyama," Kwan smirked. "We were right, Mr Perfect was her boyfriend and liked being around her. And according to your mom, they were finally caught in the act. Lacner got sacked after confessing to everything and Wexler's also fired. And your punishment and whatnot won't affect anything for your future plans. We truly are sorry for everything and hope you can forgive us. Friends?"

"Sure," Danny said as he hugged both Kwan and Dash glad that they finally told the truth. It seemed only fair to forgive them. "There is one thing I don't get though."

"What is it?" Dash asked.

"What exactly did Lancer have against you? It must have been pretty big if you went through all that." said Danny.

Kwan took a deep breath and said "The truth is his niece is pregnant I'm the dad. We sort of got drunk one night and got a little stupid and now I'm paying the price. He threatened to tell the whole school unless I did what he said. I was scared so I did what he said. I had no idea how to stand up for myself. I'm not like you, Danny." Kwan began to cry and Danny gave him a hug finally understanding what Desiree meant.

"I'll be here," Danny promised realizing his job was to help Kwan stand up for himself.

"I might as well tell my secret too," said Dash as he took a deep breath. "I was confused a few months ago about my feelings and sort of tested them out, you know what I mean." He looked at Danny meaningfully. "Anyway, I was at this club and met your sister Jazz and we, well you know. Little did I know Lancer saw the whole thing and had pictures. He was going to tell the whole school my sexual orientation with your sister or what he assumed it was. I couldn't bear go through the pain of rumors so I caved. One stupid experiment and I almost ruin your life. It wasn't even for me, I mean I support people who do it, but its not for me. I am so sorry, Danny." Dash hugged Danny as well.

"I forgive you both." Danny said finally realizing why she needed to live. He was supposed to be their guardian angel as well as one for their friends. He was supposed to give them support and help them when they needed it. Danny got up taking the hands of his two friends.

"Nasty Burger?" he asked and his friends agreed. They set out to toast to new friendships, life and a new beginning for everyone.
