'Mars' Co-Star Lands at ABC - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

"Veronica Mars" co-star Julie Gonzalo has taken a role in an ABC pilot, further indicating that changes may be in store for The CW's cult favorite.

Gonzalo headlines the latest round of pilot casting at ABC, which also includes Kevin Dunn in the comedy "Sam I Am," Victoria Pratt in the drama "Dirty Sexy Money" and Amy Sloan in Jon Feldman's CEO drama, the showbiz trade papers report. At NBC, meanwhile, Peter Keleghan has joined the comedy "Business Class."

Gonzalo, who plays Parker on "Veronica Mars," has joined the cast of an ABC comedy about a local TV news team in Phoenix. The show, from creator Ric Swartzlander ("Hidden Hills," "The Ellen Show"), also stars Rachel Boston and Amy Yasbeck.

She's the second "Mars" cast member to seek pilot work this spring, after Chris Lowell, who will appear in the back-door pilot for the possible "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff. Her other credits include "Must Love Dogs," "Dodgeball" and "Freaky Friday."

Rumors have swirled in recent days that should "Veronica Mars" return to The CW next season, it could fast-forward a few years to find Veronica (Kristen Bell) going to work for the FBI, jettisoning its current college setting. The network says it hasn't made a decision on the show's future.

Elsewhere at ABC, veteran actor Dunn ("Gridiron Gang," "All the King's Men") will play the father of Christina Applegate's amnesiac character in "Sam I Am." Dunn's recent TV credits include episodes of "Prison Break" and "Lost."

Pratt, who co-starred in "Day Break" earlier this season, will stay at ABC in the drama "Dirty Sexy Money." She joins a cast that includes Peter Krause, William Baldwin, Donald Sutherland and Jill Clayburgh. Sloan ("Gilmore Girls") will play Joshua Malina's wife in the Feldman pilot, about four CEOs or soon-to-be CEOs.

At NBC, Keleghan ("Seinfeld," "The Red Green Show") has signed on to the comedy "Business Class." He will narrate the show and appear on camera to fill in viewers about the exploits of a pair of traveling salesmen (Mark Valley and Horatio Sanz).

Yeah, it looks like the cast is jumping ship, which means that either "Veronice Mars" is done or Veronica will be in the FBI season four.
