Nancy Dussault Before Too Close for Comfort

Years before TCFC, Nancy was a regular for a couple seasons on Dick Van Dyke's 1970s sitcom. There are eight episodes of that show available for free viewing online, several of which feature Nancy. And the other catch is that there are a couple brief commercial interruptions, but at least you can see the show! I've watched a couple today, one about quitting smoking (which featured Nancy), and another where Dick's mother accidentally smokes pot. It doesn't include Nancy, but is very funny! And pretty bold material for 1973.

I remember that as well. She was let go and plus she wanted to do more on the show but David Hartman had a stanglehold on the show until Joan Lunden came along and ended that party. She brought life to the show as well as Nancy did.

The unfortunate thing with Nancy Dussault she was an underrated actress who was not given proper material to display her comedic skills. She is a great actress who can be funny. On TCFC she had to speak up for her role to have further development especially with her being the lead actress on the show.

A great singer. She is a powerful singer and episodes of TNDVS and TCFC she got to display her singing abilties on there. She have a commanding presence about her when she sings. On the episode of TCFC on the 2nd Season opener when her character Muriel found out she was pregnant at age 42 she was taken out to a restaurant that featured performers. Monroe had her to get up and sing. She sung Zing! With the Strings of My Heart. I was applauding in my own house watching it.

Nancy Dussault also did a hilarious guest star turn on Barney Miller as a hooker. The barbs she and Max Gail as Wojo hurled at each other were priceless. The name of the episode is "The Courtesans" and is on the Season 1 DVD.
