Default Anyone's guess.

---Not a big deal. I just wanted to see if anyone knows or has any ideas about this.---

I have an interview with Art Carney from 1953. There's four pictures in it -One picture is him in his dressing room dressed as Clem Finch with some words from Art about that character. The next is a shirtless Art leaning over the sink while putting on his whiskers he wears to play Reggie's father. The third is a nice color shot of him as a serious actor. The fourth is him dressed as Norton yelling at someone from a balcony (you can tell he wasn't prepared for that one lol) with again Art's words about that character. He goes on to talk about how one time he was "suppose to take a cigar butt out of his pocket. It was treated with chemicals to make it smoke. "Worked fine," Carney says. "But I got the chemicals on my hand and then on my face. I was not only smoking, I was burning before the scene was over."
Then he talks about accidentally getting sprayed in the face with vegetable dye & having to grope around blindly through the rest of the scene.

Does anyone know what episode or sketch this happened in? The smoking one may not be easy to identify since he smoked in a lot of them but I'd think him groping around the set would...

For some reason I remember that cigar story, but I don't recall ever having heard about the vegetable dye thing. Did both of those things happen in the same sketch, or was it two seperate sketches? I'm trying to think of what episode would've put Art in the situation where he'd have gotten sprayed with vegetable dye. I'll go through a few episodes and get back to you, unless someone else knows the answer...

He never said whether it was the same sketch or a seperate one. He didn't even say if it happened in a Honeymooners/Reggie Van Gleason/Charlie Bratton etc. sketch. I guess it's kind of like the famous/even though we can't find it/ peeling an orange scene .

Well was this story underneath the picture of Norton or was it just part of the interview?
