Question Ever have a celebrity write to you??

Have any of you ever written to a celebrity, and actually had them write back to you, whether through regular mail, or email?? I've had this happen quite a few times, and it's always such an awesome feeling. Here's a list of some of the celebrities who have written to me. I may even scan some of the letters for you guys to see, once my roomate get's her scanner set up again. You can do the same if you'd like.

Celebrities who have written to me:

Penelope Spheeris - Director of movies like Wayne's World, Black Sheep, and the Decline of Western Civilization.

Mindy Smith - Country singer who recently appeared on the Tonight Show.

Beth Hart - The greatest rock star in the world today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rob Reiner - Played Meathead on All In The Family, and is one of Hollywood's top directors.

Gary David Goldberg - Creator of tv shows Family Ties, and Spin City.

Chris Rice - One of today's top Christian singers.

Coral - Reality tv star, best known for her time on MTV's Real World.

I know there are a couple more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Joe Farrell wrote to me one time - you have to understand that I had a big-ass crush on him way back when, and I just about soiled myself when I got a letter from him.

The mother from Family Ties -- Meredith Baxter -- wrote a little note on a letter I sent to her once, too. She has gorgeous writing. I'm gonna go look for 'em and put up the pics.

That's cool!! I also had Meredith Baxter write to me, but not personally. It was through her fan club, which I was a part of for a few years. Only fan club I've ever been a part of actually. Anyway, I can't wait to see your letters!!

Oh yes. One of my hobbies is collecting autographs, so I've written to many TV actors and singers and have gotten replies. I got a handwritten letter from Erin Moran a few years back, which was very exciting. Several cast members from Little House on the Prairie. It's always a cool experience.

Here.

My scanner sucks donkey testicles, so you get pictures instead. The letter from Joe came out REALLY light, so I fixed it the best I could in Paint Shop Pro.

Both letters are from the end of 2005 - I went to NYC in March 2006, and you'll see a mention of that in Joe's letter to me.

I believe it was in 1991....I watched, All My Children, every day. I read an article/interview in Soap Opera Digest on James Mitchell, who played Palmer Cortlandt. He stated that he had a cat who had wandered off, never to be seen again, and that he assumed had been killed by wild animal. It was just one paragraph in the article, but he stated that he really loved his cat and missed him.

I wrote him a letter and told him that I really enjoyed his work on All My Children. I expressed sympathy for the loss of his cat, and I told him that I had a cat whom I adored. He wrote me back, thanking me for acknowledging his loss and appreciating his work on All My Children. It was a nice hand-written letter. I can't believe I don't have it. It just got lost in the shuffle of life, but he struck me a real nice man.

Since I'm also an autograph collector, I've had a bunch write to me over the years. I used to e-mail back and forth with Leah Remini during the first season of King of Queens, before she started getting completely swamped with e-mails. I've had a bunch of other short e-mail responses from celebs over the years.

It's rare, but sometimes I get a handwritten response back from a celebrity. I got this letter from actor Patrick Wilson last year:

Sharon Case from The Young and the Restless always sends back handwritten replies when someone writes to her.

I wrote a letter to the San Diego Padres in 1996. I found a book in the library at school that had the address so I wrote. I asked for autographs but they weren't able to give any but they sent me loads of stuff like the schedule for the season and a Ken Caminiti post card, among other things.

I met Mr. Mitchell several years ago and you're right, he is a very nice gentleman and was very down to earth. He still plays Palmer on All My Children but in his spare time, he participates in several fundraisers for local NYC animal shelters and the Humane Society to help find new homes for dogs and cats. I imagine he's given them a lot of money over the years. If you remember, Palmer's wife Daisy even had a cat named Bonkers that roamed around the Cortlandt mansion lol

Thanks for the information. I didn't know all that. Kudos to Mr. Mitchell! I didn't know he was still on AMC. I just checked his bio, and he'll be 87 this year. Good for him. He's an Angel on earth.

Russell Johnson, the professor from Gilligan's Island, wrote me back in less than a week - I was really impressed by that. He was very kind and encouraging, he's a very sweet guy.

I also wrote to David Irving (he's a director & Amy Irving's brother) and he was a really good sport about my tracking him down and giving him a ton of questions to answer. Nice guy. Kinda soft-spoken but friendly.

I've never had one to write which is obvious because I've never written to one. However, I have had phone conversations with the following:

Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman)
Max Baer Jr (Jethro Bodine)
Joe Maross (Character actor from the 50's onward)
Weird Al Yankovic

Another actor that graciously signs by mail is Charles Lane who turned 102 back in Jan.

Two occasions last year:

1. I once e-mailed a comment to Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years to those in Rio Linda ) on her website, and I got what I thought was FAR from a canned response--she used my first name in the reply! It was nearly two months after I sent it, but still!

2. I later e-mailed Eddie Mekka's website (Carmine "The Big Ragu" Ragusa on Laverne and Shirley to those in Rio Linda ) last June 15, a day after his birthday, and I got a reply to the effect of "Don't let it happen again. -The Mekster" since I apologized for it being a day late.

Yes, Richard Chamberlin. I wrote him and along time went by and one day in the mail I received a picture and a nice note from him.
