Do you think the show would have been better if Ann Marie had a room-mate?

No, because she was suppose to be Miss Independence. I think sharing expenses (and the spotlight) would have taken away from that.

Thats probably true. But do you think it would have been more realistic to have a room-mate to help share expenses? It would have made for a slightly
different show though.

Oh yeah, I think a roommate would have made the show more realistic. Ann would have needed more income to afford those lovely outfits!

apartment like she had?

Bonnie Scott (and now in the second season, Ruth Buzzi) as Ann's best friends helped though.

I covet almost everything she wears.

In one of the DVDs' featurettes Marlo mentions that they didn't spend too much time worrying about how her character could afford the clothes and apartment.
