Guy advice - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Theres a guy, Curt, whom Im friends with. Obviously I like him more than a friend, but Im perfectly content being 'just friends' even tho it does kinda suck lol. We've hung out alot for drinks, dinner/lunch, haunted hayride, mini golfing, bowling, he came down with me and spent the weekend with my friends at a hotel so obviously he enjoys me enough to be friends. What I dont get is, how come HE never invites ME out? Ive been the one to invite him everywhere since day one, he has never invited me out for whatever. Yah, I dont know his friends, but its not exactly like he knows all of mine either. Its not like I expect him to invite me everywhere, but itd be nice if every once in a while he asked me out for drinks and whatnot - strictly platonic. ALSO, is there anything else we can talk about besides work? We had lunch today and ugh I probably wouldve talked more had I been by myself

. We'll talk about something for a few then its akward silence and Im scrambling around in my brain trying to think of something to talk about. I always feel like I repeat myself with the things I tell him, but uggghh I just never know what to say. Is there something Im doing wrong? Should I bring up to him the fact that he never invites me out?

It's incredible what I don't think about doing! Simply because it doesn't occur to me.

I don't know that it's necessarily a reflection on your relationship...

And as for what to talk about besides work... I really can't think of anything... as work tends to be my life. I am a work-a-holic at work and a hermit at home.

I dunno, I mean if he gets talking hes fine. But ones the conversation ends its hard to think of what else to say. Ive talked to him over the phone a couple times and its so much easier.. we seem to just ramble. But once we're in a sit down setting or whatever its like.. UGH.

Well, I dont think he likes me 'like that' anyways, which is fine. But I know that he calls his other friends and he goes out with them all the time, which I dont get. Mostly he calls his guy friends, but still. I dunno, I cant figure it out!

Maybe you should bring up more exciting topics. Find out his interests and learn something about them, then you'll be able to talk to them better. I mean, since you two slept together, I'm sure you could talk about more than work.

Well I know he likes to hunt, snow mobile, etc, so I do bring up those things sometimes, but like I said, after a few minutes it kinda dies out then we're just sitting there.

My question is.. should I bring up to him the fact that he never invites me anywhere and/or calls me first?

Tell him. Like, sarcastically. When you're talking to him or whatnot, be like "How come I always have to make all the plans, am I your bitch or something?" Like something funny that won't make you seem like you're mad at him, yet will give him the hint.

I agree, bring it up in a fun, lighthearted way. If you're really having to force things though, try to move on (I know, easier said than done... I've been there).
