The Jacksons Summer Variety Series actually first ran in 1976. Then was brought back in January 1977 when it replaced the canceled Tony Orlando and Dawn series.

I'm actually looking to get rid of a Original CBS airing of Tony Orlando and Dawn from 5/12/76 on DVD which was a repeat of the 2/18/76. A couple of things are Original Airings but no commercials. I have an Original airing of the Jacksons Variety series with Carroll O Connor with commercials but the Qality is like 5/10
