Default Do you even buy "movies" anymore?

I don't. $20 for an hour and a half movie when I can get 24 eps of my favorite shows for $30-40? Hours more entertainment of stuff I LOVE; guaranteed? I buy MAYBE two movies a year.

Maybe I shouldn't have been so extreme, what I meant was it's such a low priority vs TV Boxsets it isn't funny.

Lets See: The Rockford Files Season 3, $27, 22 hours+ of CLASSIC Jim Garner... or $19.99 for 95 minutes for the Pick of Destiny..? Hmm...

I buy movies all the time. I find quite a few of them for $10 or less.

Yes I see what you mean. Value wise you get more for your money with the
box-set, right?

I do. I haven't bought many movies lately because there hasn't been many that I've been interested in. But if a movie I liked/wanted to see comes out, I'll buy it.

Uh......YAAAA!!

But it's beyond that, it's completely a lopsided benefit for the boxset.

Not as much as I used to because TV on DVD nowadays rates a higher priority but I still keep my eyes open. Most of my favorite films have DVD releases now, but I still want to see certain titles I still have the Laser Disc of finally get out (Samson And Delilah, 1936 Show Boat etc.)

Over the past few years I have probably bought more TV DVDs than movie DVDs.

I guess some TV shows have more "rewatchability" than movies.

I do, but only classics (Bogart, Cagney, Jimmy Stewart, etc.)
As with my television I only like the good movies most of which are black and white. Warner Brothers has done a great job in creating "Warner Night At The Movies" which recreates a night at the movie theater in showing a short, a cartoon, a newsreel, and a trailer along with the movie. Other studios need to take note of this and start doing so. Also the multi-disc sets of movies like "The Maltese Falcon", "Casablanca" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy" are packed with nice extras.

I don't buy many movies anymore unless it's something from that past that gets released for the first time. Other than that, I do agree it is worth it to get a dvd set since there is more for you to watch. But, then again, I enjoy watching 30-minute shows. It might just be a personal preference.

I haven't bought a movie in a while. I either record them off cable or rent them.
