At times the whole family would be living together at SouthFork, did anyone
think this a strange arrangement?

It pissed me off that Bobby wasn't "man" enough to just take his wife Pam and move to a house nearby. My God, a lot of their marriage problems would have ceased had he just done that. Those boys were mama boys most definitely.

I know Miss Ellie wanted her family to be "together" but it was ridiculous to have all those people in that house.

Plus as rich as they were you would think they would want their own mansions, especially J.R.

I agree. Pam had to hear JR.'s insults and false accusations all the time. You shouldn't have to put up with that in your own home.

I agree. Not only that, Pam had the beautiful mansion that her mother left when she passed away, so why not continue to live there with Bobby and their son???? Stupid!

By that time Pam was angry at Bobby because of the war for Ewing Oil and blamed that war for her Mother's death. I think it was to late and then you had JR and Katherine conspiring to break them up when they were seperated. Never boring.

The funny thing is by the time the show ended the only ones still at Southfork was Jr, Bobby and their sons.

Ah, but Sonny, when the dream season passed and we saw that Bobby was in fact alive, Pam still lived in that beautiful mansion. She and Bobby remarried and returned to Southfork. Seems Pam forgot all abt the drama that drove her away to begin with.

Understandable, but the reason behind it was that they knew the matriarch of the family, Miss Ellie, wanted everyone under the same roof to "keep the family together". Plus, it helped keep the drama going. J.R. wouldn't have been able to cause as much trouble for the rest of the Ewing clan if they all had had separate pads or houses. It was kind of necessary in that respect...
