Default Strange indicent I had while driving today...

Weird experience...I was stuck behind some slow cars on a state road coming home - I get to where the road widens to 4 lanes, and go to pass a couple cars. At the same time, a truck holds back - I see there's a police car behind him next in line - and I'm in his line of sight going 60 (limit's 55). Well, It continues, and I'm just waiting to get pulled over....the truck gets behind me and starts going the same speed. The SECOND the truck gets behind me, the cop pulls the truck over, and I go merrily on my way.
----
I can't figure out why the truck got pulled over, and I didn't. Not that I'm complaining, it's just weird.

Looks like the speed scanner got his speed before yours. I read somewhere about that.

Whatever the reason, good for you. Those moving violations haunt us for a long while. My husband's car insurance rate just leveled off after six years because of a speeding ticket.

My daughter just got her fifth ticket (I believe) anyways, DMV says ONE MORE and she will either have it revoked or she will have to have it so that she will only be able to drive to work, NO WHERE ELSE! Man, good thing she has a job and she can pay for her part of her insurance, which has GONE UP!

I speed all the time going to college. Speed limit is 55 and I go 65-70(sometimes close to 75 ). I always slow down when I see police though and have not gotten pulled over yet for speeding(did get pulled over in September for something else, but I won't tell that story ). Half the time I get behind someone who goes the speed limit, which sucks.

I hate that too. I can't stand it. I'm just in a hurry just to be in a hurry though.

Amen to that! I too am a fast driver, sometimes TOO fast. It's a bad habit and I have been better about it in the past few months. I try not to play fast music anymore while I drive because I tend to speed when I do, so basically it's either talk radio or a ballgame.

Could be a number of reasons - the truck may have had dead tags, plus was speeding - there's two citations right there.

Yeah, the truck could have been pulled over for a lot of reasons; his tags(as someone mentioned); he didn't stop at a weigh station, etc.

Cops usually don't pull people over for going 5 miles over the speed limit. That's probably why you didn't get pulled over.

5 over?! I agree.. it had to be for something else. If not, then that is ridiculous. Ive been flashed many a times for going 5 over [some towns are really strict], but when Ive gotten pulled over its always been for going faster than that lol.
