Question Worst movie musical??

My vote goes to Grease 2. Yes, there were a few enjoyable songs and Maxwell Caulfield was HOT, but the script was hokey and the direction was stilted.

Even though I loved the music, and Olivia Newton-John's peasant chic outfits, Xanadu was so corny!!

I don't really understand why Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band got all the slamming over the years. Sure, it wasn't a great movie or even a good one, but I did have fun watching it. Where else can you see Barry Gibb punch out Alice Cooper, or a fight to the death between Peter Frampton and Steven Tyler?? That said, watching Peter Frampton try to cry (with obviously fake tears sprayed on his face) was PAINFUL.

I didn't like that musical Madonna was in, I think it was about a South American woman. I'm going blank on the name of it.

I hate GREASE 2...that movie is a slap in the face to GREASE. I remember when they were in pre-production of making Grease 2, Andy Gibb's name came up as playing Cauffield's role. God, there are some movies that shouldn't be made.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band featuring the Bee Gees, Peter Frampton and of all people George Burns. uke: horrible movie.

I remember reading that, the Grease sequel would be called Summer School, with Andy Gibb in the lead. I don't know why it wasn't made, but by '82 Andy Gibb's days were full, hosting Solid Gold while at the same time starring in Pirates of Penzance on Broadway. I think movie musicals would've been a good fit for Andy.

Tommy. Urgh, I hated every second of that movie. There was nothing redeeming about that movie at all. It's a musical about a blind/deaf kid who goes on to play really good pinball. Supposedly the stage play is much better than the movie, but that isn't saying much.

The Wiz and Grease 2 aren't high on my list of favorites either.

Oh my gosh! Tommy and Little Shop of Horrors are amazing! Little Shop of Horrors is my all time favorite and Tommy is weird as hell but has some amazing music. I like Evita too. But to each their own I suppose.

But I really dislike Paint your wagon. 4 hours of Clint Eastwood trying to sing. Absolutely Awful.

I don't know if this really counts or not, but I didn't like the movie last year by Disney, High School Musical.

I really like Little Shop of Horrors and I love the Broadway soundtrack. That's a weird one, but it's a lot of fun. I just hated the movie of Tommy so much - I wasn't a fair judge on the music.

You know, there's 2 types of people in this world: those that get Rocky Horror and those that don't. I love it - but it took awhile. It scared the heck out of me when I first saw it But now I love listening to the soundtrack of that show. Shock Treatment too. That's an even weirder show but another great soundtrack.

It's not that I don't get it, it's that I HATED IT. I was bored out of my mind and it couldn't keep my attention.
