[I]The clothes they put on Alfonso to play his character. The wackiest colors that didn't even go together! haha

yeah, but alfonso's carlton character was supposed to be a nerdy, geeky type of person and so those clothes, no matter how terrible it looked on him, we often laughed at and along with him and his antics and some of the silliest things he said. therefore, on alfonso it's definitely doesn't suit him at all but as carlton, it probabaly does!

His clothes were like clown preppy, lol. You could tell they were of very high quality, but crazy bright.

The wacky "Carlton" clothes were part of his image...a brainy, intellectual, nerdy type guy. "Carlton" was great!

Atleast they changed it some after season 1, no more LIME or PINK colored shirts on Carlton-lol

I don't know... I think I saw a couple of pink clothes on him in later seasons too. At least, I'm positive, that he wears a pink sweater or shirt in that episode, when Phil and Viv are invited to "Soul Train". But of course, the 80s were over at the time, so there wasn't so much bright colors anymore, and guys stopped wearing pink.

Yeah, and sometimes they had him wear ridiculous plaid pants or plaid shirts! It was so funny! LOL! "Carlton" was sure a fashion plate!
