Default Margaret marrying Donald?

I understand WHY she did it; she knew Frank would never leave Momy, but why did she think he'd be so happy for her?

well from what i can make of it all is that Frank was married i mean she wasn't going to just waste her whole life waiting for him! and she knew deep down that he was never going to leave his wife! and well Donald he was probley just like her tough and serious! everything Frank wasn't she needed a "man" and i guess she saw all of that in Donald! of course she got her heart broken again when she found out that he was cheating on her! but hey Margaret got though it and i think that she was happy about that too!

I think Margaret was being a little naive in thinking that Frank would be happy that she met another guy. After all, her and Frank were in a relationship, and she dumped him for Donald.

Only a little while....there isn't much of an actual time line to the show, but I'm betting like maybe 6-7 months?

Not really..I think Margaret's marriage was more of a "spuur-of-the-moment" thing (I can't think of the right word now..). She just wanted to GET married b/c she might have felt the pressure that she wasn't, maybe she was just lonely, or sick of Frank. It's obvious that she didn't really love Donald, I think she just loved the idea of having a husband and kind of pretended to care..

Maragret got married at the end of season 5 and was officially divorced by the middle of season seven. But on the show it could have been less than a year.

yeah i think you kind of had to feel a little sorry for Frank but not long though! cause when he started talking to Haweye on the phone now that was when the "smypathy" just went away i think! he knew that both Haweye and Bj would just fume over Frank going to state side and all! and he saved the best part about that for them!

I think HC hit's it right on the head. MH had her heart broke like 3 times I think. Once with the new nurse that had taken a walk with DP on a beach in Hawaii I think.....could have been Guam or Tokyo. I forget that part. Then when she got the letter that was meant to be for a woman named ___________??? Need a little help here. LOL!!!

And of course ya can't forget when her heart was broken when she heard that the camp 'mutt' (I prefer puppy dog) had been run over.

The actor who played Donald was in the "Smokey And The Bandit" movies starring Jackie Gleason and Burt Reynolds, he was the JR the son of Beuford T Justice who was supposed to marry Sally Fields character (frog)
