Default Actors & Actresses Who Vanished into Obscurity

I would LOVE to find out whatever happened to Marilyn Hassett. She played real-life handicapped ex-skier Jill Kinmont in the two Other Side of the Mountain movies in the 1970s, won a Golden Globe and appeared in shlocky B-movies and occasional TV guest spots throughout the '80s. Then -- nothing. Ms. Hassett was a good actress and had beautiful hair!! I'd love to know where she is and what she looks like now.

I also wondered whatever happened to Lynn-Holly Johnson, who played ice skaters in Ice Castles and For Your Eyes Only. Then I read she gave up acting to become a full-time wife and mother.

Who else??

Lynn also appeared in a men's magazine, I believe Playboy or Penthouse. Not sure.

Glynnis O'Conner. Remember her? She was romantically involved with Robby Benson for a long time. She made many movies including Boy in the Plastic Bubble with John Travolta (my man).

Let me add Scott Colomby who played Valerie Bertinelli's boyfriend on ONE DAY AT A TIME and also was her boyfriend in real life...he was that young Italian guy that she dated in the early seasons of the show. He was HOT!

I remember when everybody was talking about Guy Pearce, the Australian actor who made a big splash here in 1997's "L.A Confidential." They all said he was going to be the next big superstar.
Sure, he's done some good movies since, like "Ravenous" and "Momento" and he does keep busy, but he never achieved that level of superstardom Hollywood said he would.

I remember reading that. She was also in The Watcher in the Woods with Bette Davis. Davis (who was nothing if not frank) said she was really impressed by Johnson's acting abilities at such a young age. She said it was probably due to her athletic training, (she was a professional ice skater first), that made her so disciplined.

There's one actress I remember that no one else seems to, Sarah Patterson. She had a great debut in The Company of Wolves (one of Stephen Rea's first movies too), but seemed to find little success. She was such a stunning little girl, I'd love to see what she looks like now. Apparently she also gave it up to get married and have kids.

And where in the world is Kristy McNichol?

He's still around. I think he went back to Australia, so we haven't heard from him in awhile. He's in Factory Girl right now, which I haven't seen...

I love him. He was also in The Time Machine, The Count of Monte Cristo, and... lest we forget, The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert

True, he didn't vanish like others in this thread. His career just didn't hit megastardom like it was supposed to.

Okay, I got one!

Klinton Splisbury.

Never heard of him? He starred in "The Legend Of The Lone Ranger," a 1981 big budget big screen remake of the popular Lone Ranger adventure series.

Unfortunatly, the movie was a ginormous flop, and Klinton Spilsbury rode off into the sunset, never to appear in anthing again.

This film is the only credit he ever had.

I wonder what ever happened to Robby Benson? He played in several movies
in the 70's but then seemed to vanish. Also one of the stars of Alias Smith &
Jones, Ben Murphy, disappeared too. They were both pretty well know back
in the 70's.

Robby Benson now works behind the scenes. As a director, producer, writer, etc.

That's right. He was also the voice of the Beast in the Beauty and the Beast videos. He also played the father of Melissa Joan Hart on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Oh yes! I really like her! She made numerous tv appearances in the 70's. Among these was Gunsmoke, Night Gallery, and the mini-series's The Dark Secret of Harvest Home ,Testimony Of Two Men, and Beulah Land . I looked her up on IMDB.com and it showed that her last tv appearance was on Murder She Wrote in 1991.
