Default The "Are You Being Served?" Survey!

Which do you prefer?
Mr. Lucas or Mr. Spooner
Mr. Grainger or Mr. Tebbs
Mr. Tebbs or Mr. Goldberg
Mr. Grainger or Mr. Goldberg
Young Mr. Grace or Old Mr. Grace
Mr. Mash or Mr. Harman
The First 5 Series or The Second 5 Series*

What's Your Favorite Episode?

Who's Your Favorite Character?

Who's Your Least Favorite Character?

What's Your Least Favorite Episode?

Your Opinion of the Movie.

Your Opinion of the Spin-Off, "Grace & Favour" (aka: Are You Being Served? Again!).

One or two of your favorite scenes from the show.

Which Character Do You Feel Is the Main Character - Captain Peacock, Mrs. Slocombe, Mr. Lucas or Mr. Humphries. I'd say only those four are in the running for main character.

*Don't forget, "Series" really means "Seasons".

Mr. Grainger, however, Tebbs had a few moments I liked.

Mr. Tebbs or Mr. Goldberg
Mr. Goldberg, though like I said, Tebbs had his moments.
Quote:
Mr. Grainger or Mr. Goldberg
Mr. Grainger, though Mr. Goldberg I think was the best replacement for him.
Quote:
Young Mr. Grace or Old Mr. Grace
Hands down, Young Mr. Grace. Old Mr. Grace to me was not that likeable.

Mr. Mash or Mr. Harman
Mr. Harman. Mr. Mash was kind of creepy. lol

The First 5 Series or The Second 5 Series*
The first 5 series, definitely. They contain most of my favorite episodes. However, I thought the 1978 and 1979 series were very enjoyable.
Quote:
What's Your Favorite Episode?
Forward Mr. Grainger. Though a close second is Top Hat and Tails. I really liked it when they did dance numbers. I'd say that overall the 1976 and 1977 series were my favorites.
Quote:
Who's Your Favorite Character?
Mr. Humphries. I think he's the funniest one.
Quote:
Who's Your Least Favorite Character?
Mr. Klein. His character never did anything for me, really.

What's Your Least Favorite Episode?
Hmm... I guess Front Page Story.

Your Opinion of the Movie.
I've never seen it, though I hear it had really cheesy effects.

Your Opinion of the Spin-Off, "Grace & Favour" (aka: Are You Being Served? Again!).
It seemed to start off with promise, but it kind of faded to me as it went on.
Quote:
One or two of your favorite scenes from the show.
Captain Peacock teaching Mr. Lucas how to "flute." And when they had the musical numbers.

I'd probably say it's a tossup between Mrs. Slocombe and Mr. Humphries.

The Old Order Changes and The Clock

Who's Your Favorite Character?
Mr. Lucas

Who's Your Least Favorite Character?

I don't think I have one

Your Opinion of the Movie.
Made me laugh in a way that only AYBS can

Your Opinion of the Spin-Off, "Grace & Favour" (aka: Are You Being Served? Again!).
It was alright. Not as good as the original mind you.

One or two of your favorite scenes from the show.
The dance in German Week and when Miss Brahms and Mr. Lucas do the puppet show in The Punch and Judy Affair

Which Character Do You Feel Is the Main Character - Captain Peacock, Mrs. Slocombe, Mr. Lucas or Mr. Humphries. I'd say only those four are in the running for main character.

I thought that Mr. Lucas was at first and then it moved more towards Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Slocombe.

Mr. Grainger represented the middle class man reminiscing on Britain's better days.

Young Mr. Grace, though even he was made to seem pervy in some of the later episodes.

Mr. Mash was better for getting the wind up the management. Mr. Harman was more likeable on a personal level for spreading store gossip.

The first 5 series.

Forward Mr. Grainger, Wedding Bells, German Week, The Hand of Fate, Fifty Years On, Hoorah For the Holidays.

Mrs Slocombe and Mr. Humphries in the early series.

Mr. Spooner. It was a mistake to include him.

So many poor episodes which shouldn't have been made. Fire Practice, Is It Catching? The Erotic Dreams of Mrs. Slocombe, The Apartment, The Pop Star, Roots.

The film should never have been made, apart from the scene at the beginning with Mrs. Slocombe in the photo booth.

Grace and Favour is on youtuxx. The Somerset numbskulls are annoying, as are the scenes with Mr. Humphries in bed with Mavis Moulterd.

Mr. Grainger taking Mr. Rumbold's place in Forward Mr. Grainger and inviting in Captain Peacock. A scene in the canteen from the same episode where the staff send him to Coventry. The birthday song in Fifty Years On. The scene towards the end of Hoorah For the Holidays in the boardroom.

The glue which held the show together was Captain Peacock, but the main laughs came from Mrs. Slocombe.

The First 5 Series or The Second 5 Series*
The First 5. After that it was all downhill.

What's Your Favorite Episode?

A tie between Goodbye Mr. Grainger and Oh what a tangled web we weave

Who's Your Favorite Character?

Mr. Lucas

Who's Your Least Favorite Character?

Mr. Spooner.

What's Your Least Favorite Episode?

Is it catching

Your Opinion of the Movie.

Awful. The plot is a lazy combination of Fire Practice, Camping In, and Dear Sexy Knickers, the characters are written to be unlikable, and the sets look cheap. The only thing that would've saved this movie besides a complete rewrite would've been for Miss Brahms to have been in a Union Jack bikini for the entire run time, which sadly doesn't happen.

Your Opinion of the Spin-Off, "Grace & Favour" (aka: Are You Being Served? Again!).

Haven't seen it and don't plan on it.

One or two of your favorite scenes from the show.

Mr. Grainger reading his resignation letter in Goodbye Mr. Grainger and the rehearsal of Happy Birthday to you in Fifty years on

Which Character Do You Feel Is the Main Character - Captain Peacock, Mrs. Slocombe, Mr. Lucas or Mr. Humphries. I'd say only those four are in the running for main character.

I would say Slocombe, Humphries, and Peacock would be in the running for Main Character, with Slocombe and Humphries dominating the latter five series. Lucas only had four episodes where he was central character (The Pilot, Dear Sexy Knickers, Our figures are slipping, and Cold Store)
