Default Michael and Archie's clothes!!

Damn. it was like Gilligan and the Skipper.

Couldn't they give them a different shirt to wear every now and then.??

Now everyone knows that when a guy finds a comfortable outfit, thats all
you'll see him in, unless he has to go to a wedding or a funeral. Mike and
Archie are a good example of that.

Mike changed his sometimes-- it wasn't ALWAYS the blue denim shirt, but Archie was FOREVER clad in the off-white button up and dark brown slacks-lol. I read somewhere that the only reason Archie's shirt wasn't completely white was that the color messed up the camera's lighting or something.

maybe a couple of flashback eps..

But he was clad in that blue shirt 99% of the time...

Even Gilligan occasionally had a tshirt in the first season..

I have a book about the emmies with a picture in it from season 1 that has Archie sitting in his chair wearing a different outfit- a colored polo shirt and a cardigan. Don't know which episode that is or if it's just a publicity shot. I also saw in a TV Guide interview from that same season a shot of the actors on the set and Archie had on a short sleeve shirt and light colored pants (perhaps this was a rehearsal?). But the fact that they wore the same clothes is symbolic - just like cartoon characters they are stuck in their ideologies. At least Mike wore different clothes sometimes, suggesting he was less intractible and the fact that Archie put on the vest in the APB era is symbolic of him adding a bit more color to his outlook and not just seeing everything in absolute black and white.

What a hoot! You're right. Ironic about Mike wearing the Dickie type shirt when he was not working and then when he did start working we never saw him in it again. Its true about Archies shirt being off white so as not to clash with the lights but I also think it was done on purpose to accentuate the character a bit, kinda like how the walls looked dirty in the house. Didn't they go through a period in Season 7 or so where the house was re-wallpapered?

BTW...I just thought of this when I was reading this thread started by George W. I've been watching the TV show Family and think that James Brawdrick looks exactly like George W.

We only had black and white tv in the 70's, so it prob looked okayh to me. Now, I'd think they're "low budget."
