Post Growing Pains (posted)

Growing Pains ("As Long as We Got Each Other" by Steve Dorff and John Bettis, sung by B.J. Thomas & Jennifer Warnes)

Show me that smile again. (Show me that smile)
Don’t waste another minute on your cryin’.
We're nowhere near the end (nowhere near)
The best is ready to begin.

Oooohhh. As long as we got each other
We got the world spinnin right in our hands.
Baby you and me, we gotta be
The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin’.

As long as we keep on givin’
we can take anything that comes our way
Baby, rain or shine, all the time
We got each other Sharin’ the laughter and love.

If you take away everything from "Baby, you and me..." to "...we can take anything that comes our way," and you got the short version.

Talking Growing Pains Theme ("As Long As We Got Each Other") Long Version Lyrics

Here are the lyrics to the version of the GP theme song that was released as a single.

As Long As We Got Each Other.
(Dorff / Betts)

Duet with B. J. Thomas

Theme from "Growing Pains"

Show me that smile again
Oh, show me that smile
Don't waste another minute on your cryin'
We're nowhere near the end
(We're nowhere near)
The best is ready to begin

On a cloudy day (in the 2004 movie, this line became "Whenever skies are gray")
I look into your eyes and see them shining
Holding you close this way
(Holding you this way)
Is like having summer everyday
Ooh, ooh

As long as we got each other
We got the world spinnin' right in our hands
Baby, you and me
We gotta be
The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin'

As long as we keep on givin'
We can take anything that comes our way
Baby, rain or shine
All the time
We got each other
Sharin' the laughter and love

Promise me here and now
Nothing but jokes
Will ever come between us
You can depend on me
'Cause I need you like the air I breathe
Oh, oh

As long as we got each other
We got the world spinnin' right in our hands
Baby, you and me
We gotta be
The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin'

As long as we keep on givin'
We can take anything that comes our way
Baby, rain or shine
All the time
We got each other
Sharin' the laughter and love

As long as we got each other
We got the world spinnin' right in our hands
Baby, you and me
We gotta be
The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin'

As long as we keep on givin'
We can take anything that comes our way
Oh, baby, rain or shine
All the time
We got each other
Sharin' the laughter and love

I like that theme song then it started to sound like they were singing at a funeral.

I like the accapella version...it fits with the tone in the beginning looking at them through the years with the pictures growing up.

That is one of my favorite theme songs next to Family Ties.

Question Growing Pains Anniversary Episode

Hi! I'm new here, but I was wondering if anyone could help me. At the end of an anniversary episode (I don't know how many of that episodes are) the parents dance to what is apparently "their song", it's like a waltz or something but with lyrics I think. If anyone knows the title of the song or where I could find it I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it. THANX!!!
