Default If You Suddenly Took Over for Warner Bros DVDs...

What would you do as the President of Warner Bros. DVD division?

Here's what I would do.

I would prep and release "Night Court: The Complete Second Season" sometime in June of 2007. Since I would have to keep a business head about this, I would not release any bonus features with the set, only because that would cost extra money. And why spend the extra money if you're not going to make that much for the DVD title? This is a business decision. No matter what, I would plan on releasing the entire series (in time) but I would still need to make money on it. If it sells well enough, then the third season would have some extras.

I would also prep and release "Murphy Brown: The Complete Second Season" also in June of 2007. This show would have the same "no extras" policy. But again, if the sales are good enough, features will be added to future sets. And again, the entire series would come out, it's the bonus features that are in jeaopardy here, not the series.

I would also prep and release (I like saying that lol) "Chico and the Man: The Complete First Season" in May of 2007. This show would have extras. "Fans of Chico and the Man - a Featurette" would have fans talking about the show. It would also include a brand new "The Story of Chico and the Man" which would be a documentary on the show with interviews from people who were associated with the show.

I would make a promise to release further seasons of shows that Warner Bros. had abandoned. However, Night Court and Murphy Brown are the first two titles to be ressurected.

Other WB titles and when I would probably release them:
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: The Complete Fifth Season (August 07)
Full House: The Complete Seventh Season (August 07)
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: The Complete Sixth Season (December 07)
Full House: The Complete Eighth Season (December 07)
Perfect Strangers: The Complete First and Second Seasons (July 07)
Alice: The Complete First Season (July 07)
Family Matters: The Complete First Season (August 07)
Step by Step: The Complete First Season (August 07)
Joey: The Complete Second Season (September 07)

Another big not would be how I would release "Mamas Family." I would release "Mamas Family: The Complete First and Second Seasons - Uncut". This would be a re-release of the first season, featuring the uncut episodes, which the real WB didn't do. But this set would also contain the entire second season. Really it's the second season, with the uncut first season episodes as more of a bonus feature.

I'd also release the 1980s seasons of "The Jetsons."

And of course more. But what would you do?

Sorry, you can't. Tomorrow's not a Tuesday.

BTW, I couldn't remember WB titles. I struggled to remember the ones that I did, so I just stayed with sitcoms. However, I just remembered that "Life Goes On" is WB, so I'd be sure to release the second season of that.

I'd release Perfect Strangers season 1 and 2 also, with plenty of extras since the fans have waited so long! Plus it was shot on film so it should look fine.

Then I would release the rest of PS one season a month, and so on.

Other shows...Is Barney Miller on WB? If so any seasons of it that are not out yet.

Warner Bros has never been good about releasing shows that only lasted for one season. This is is the first thing I'd change.

I make sure these would be the first to come out

Brimstone
Eyes
Dead Last
Run of the House
Opposite Sex
Birds of Prey
Fastlane
Jonny Zero
Runaway
Fish Police
Pirates of Dark Water
Bucky O'Hare

I forgot about that. Yes, the second season of "Growing Pains" would definately come out soon, if I was in charge of WB. In fact, it would come out in June 07. There.

Cool

I would release more Reba seasons, and more of The Ellen Degeneres Show on DVD.

Barney Miller is Sony, only Season 1 is out. That looks like another set Sony has abandoned...I wish they would release more!!

If I was at Warner, i'd release season 2 of Murphy Brown ASAP!!!
