Default Growing Pains vs. Full House

I am a huge Growing Pains fan and would love to have every season on DVD. I heard that no more seasons are going to be released on DVD. That would be a shame. I really liked the episodes that aired in the middle of the series. I saw that seasons of Full House are on DVD up through like season 5! What the heck!? I guess Full House was okay, seeming as it was an 80s sit-com and all, but so many of the episodes were very goofy...in a bad way. I thought Growing Pains was a much better sit-com; better acting, stories, themes, etc. Why the heck is Full House getting so much re-run time and so many DVD releases when Growing Pains, a much better show in my opinion, isn't getting anywhere near the same treatment? Anyone else seeing this trend, too? Any news on whether or not there will be other seasons of Growing Pains on DVD? Also, anyone know a website where the Growing Pains theme songs in their various incarnations can be downloaded? Thanks in advance!

Growing Pains is a much better show. The seaver kids are more realistic than those fake full house kids.

Weelllll, I like both shows, so here are my point of views;

Kirk Cameron and Candance Cameron are siblings (obviously!) so the shows had sort of a hate-hate relationship with each other, each trying to out-do each other. And since Full House was two years newer, and the Olsens were cuter than Ashley Johnson (okay, maybe just as cute), Full House won out. Big deal. I have nothing against FH being successful, but I have plenty on making Growing Pains successful, even though its been cancelled for 15 years!

Well, I like 'em both, though FH is way cheesier.

I like the Growing Pains theme song more. And at least Maggie and Jason weren't clean freaks.

I love Growing Pains. Full House just always annoyed me. It's just soooo cheesy. Growing Pains is just so much more realistic. It focused more on problems that actually do occur. I dunno. That's just my opinion though. I didn't mean to insult anybody if I did though.

Full House was less realistic and more cheesy, but hey, you have to give 'em credit; they ran a season longer than Growing Pains, I think.

Default Personally...

I'm with the last few posters. I like both shows, but I think FH has been in the overkill arena for several years now.

Yep, they do! Full House has gotten more seasons released because that series sells much better than the season 1 Growing Pains DVD set did. Its a shame, really. I want all the seasons of BOTH shows released on DVD!
