Greetings,
Wow......I just finished watching the two parts of the reunited childhood friends on 'You Tube'. What an inspiration......a tear-jerker. I couldn't believe the update at the end when the found David Major as well, the boy who 'they taught how to kiss'. It's always nice to see happy reunions like that. That shows how a powerful friendship always rekindles and never dies. Just thought I'd share this with you guys.....one of the most touching stories I've seen in a long time. Becky accepted Judy for who she was, not what she had. I think we need more people like that, not just in the schools,, but in the world. This story has touched me because I remember I wasn't the most popular student way back when....... |

I agree that was a touching story. That's why I put it on YouTube - although I had my doubts at first since most people here don't really care for the lost love segments. I guess YouTube is a whole different story because the reunited childhood friends segment has gotten over 1,000 views in just 5 days. That's well over the number of views for many of the unsolved murder stories I have put up.
Maybe I should put some more lost love segments on there. |

I have a rather personal anecdote regarding this story. I usually don't discuss such things on this board, but I felt this was a nice parallel to this segment.
I just happened to watch this segment on tape from the "Live from the Telecenter" episode from 1992 after having not seen it in a few years. I always found the story touching, but I never really connected with it like I did until recently. I made a friend at college a few years ago. I was bullied a lot growing up and still am a little distrustful of people as result. This friend and I clicked instantly and he felt like the older brother I never had (I'm an only child). As Judi said of Becky, I never had to feel "different" around him or distrustful. Interestingly, when he and I became such good friends, my thoughts immediately went to Judi and Becky's segment. Sometimes, you don't realize how few friends you have until you find one really good one. This is one of the only segments I can relate to on such a personal level, that I have actually cried while viewing it. |

There are few things more wonderful than when someone accepts you just as you are.Today's been a drag of a day for me--not that that's major or anything--and it was so nice to read about kindness in a place where we normally discuss the worst of human tendency. |
