Daddy oh! Bridget’s pregnant, but Tom has no plans to marry ex-galpal

New England Patriots [team stats] QB/QT Tom Brady [stats] has known for months that he’s going to be a daddy, but he has no plans to marry the baby’s mother, “Six Degrees” star Bridget Moynahan, sources told the Track.

Moynahan’s PR gal Christina Papadopoulos confirmed yesterday that Brady’s ex-leading lady, 36, is “over three months pregnant” and that No. 12 is the father.

Brady is overseas and could not be reached for comment but friends of the Patriots prince say their bud is “an honorable guy” who will “do the right thing” although it’s unlikely he’ll make an honest woman of Bridget. He dumped her back in November after a three-year relationship.

Tom quickly moved on and currently is dating Victoria’s Secret supermodel Gisele Bundchen. During Super Bowl week in Miami, Tom was overheard referring to her as his “girlfriend” while he perused pairs of diamond earrings to give his gal on Valentine’s Day.

But despite the new relationship, pals expect Tom to step up and do the daddy thing when the little bundle of joy arrives because, “he’s a man of honor.”

In fact, Tom told a packed Boston courtroom Friday that he and mentor Charlie Weis, who is in the throes of a medical malpractice suit, bonded because they both expect people to be “accountable” and “responsible.”

Of course, it’s unlikely Bridget is too happy with No. 12’s act. Word is, the pair broke up because Bridget’s game plan to marry and start a family didn’t appeal to the 29-year-old pigskin playboy.

“She took the break-up so hard you wouldn’t believe it,” said one friend.

Ya think it was because she was pregnant?

Word is, B. was less than thrilled to see her ex squiring around Leonardo DiCaprio’s former squeeze so soon after the bust-up. Tom and Gisele hooked up shortly before Christmas and he continues to parade around the Apple with her, dodging the paparazzi. Brady appears to be gobsmacked by the glamourpuss, who he is currently cavorting with in Paris.

People maggie reported yesterday that the pair caught the Academie du Spectacle Equestrian horse show at Versailles on Saturday before having dinner at the Cafe de la Paix. The bistro reportedly is Gisele’s favorite eatery in the City of Love. Ooh, la la.

Meanwhile, Bridget has been miserable since Tom put her on waivers around Thanksgiving. (Our spies saw them dining at Umbria during the holiday weekend. No PDA was reported.) But Bridget’s big announcement seemed timed to cause her ex-honey the least amount of agita possible. She dropped the bomb on a long holiday weekend after Brady’s highly publicized court appearance in the Hub and while he was out of the country.

“I feel bad for her,” said one friend of Brady.

After Tom kicked her to the curb, Bridget’s friends were worried about her weight loss, which, come to think of it, could have been morning sickness. But the actress appears to have rebounded of late, taking in the Santa Barbara Film Festival and New York’s Fashion Week. Last Thursday, the mommy-to-be looked glowing and glam - although her black frock resembled a traffic cone, according to one fashionista - at a screening of her latest flick, “Gray Matters.”

Bridget’s spokesgal said the former model is “healthy and excited” about the impending arrival. Last fall, Bridget told Boston Common maggie that marriage and kids are part of her five-year plan.

“I’ve been on this career thing for so long, and you look at all your friends who are finally getting married and having kids,” she said. “I believe in balance in life, so I think you can do it all.”

Moynahan and Brady are tight with their families. Bridget’s parents, Brad and Mary, live out in Longmeadow, and Tom’s parents, Tom, Sr. and Gaylen, reside on the Left Coast. Tom’s sisters have lived with him in Boston off and on for years.

Neither set of future grandparents returned calls seeking comment yesterday but it is well known that Tom and his family are devout Catholics - a fact that has some speculating that he will eventually cave and marry Bridget. However, others point out that Tom’s sister, Maureen, never married the father of her daughter, Mya.

Brady, BTW, is such a family guy, he bought a $6.7 million, multiunit townhouse on Beacon Street last year so his sisters, Julie and Nancy, will have cribs of their own. And speaking of real estate, sources in the Apple speculated yesterday that Brady may be reconsidering selling his $16.5 uberluxe condo in the Time Warner Building.

Tom bought the chi-chi, three-bedroom Manhattan crib in September for $14.5 million and earlier this month put the property on the market.

“You could call to inquire a week or two ago, but not anymore,” our spy said. For what it’s worth, Bridget is currently living in the Apple.

Tom’s pigskin progeny will probably arrive this summer - around the time the Pats start training camp and before the pre-season when they head off to China to play the Seahawks.

Patriots spokesman Stacey James, who was told about the baby by theHerald, said it was news to him and didn’t anticipate having any comment.

So ya think parenthood will affect Tom’s game?

F.O.T.s claim Brady knew about the baby during this year’s post-season, but didn’t let it affect him. (Read: blame the wide receivers.) But how will it affect Bridget?

“Imagine the next guy (she dates),” said one wag. “Think he’ll have a complex or what? Babysitting Tom Brady’s baby . . .”

I'm hearing that Brady is really hooked on his new gal. It's a crazy situation all around. I'm wondering if Bridget knew he was ending the relationship and got pregnant in an attempt to keep him. They were together for three years...then she gets pregnant. I feel very bad for her too. All I know is that even if they don't reconcile, Brady will be paying for this child for the next couple of decades.

Tom ’excited’ about daddyhood? Hmm

His golden boy image tarnished, New England PatriotsQB/QT Tom Brady finally issued a statement about impending fatherhood yesterday saying he’s “excited” about ex-galpal Bridget Moynahan’s pregnancy - and little else.

“Tom and his family are excited about the pregnancy, and want to thank everyone who has shown support, and particularly for their consideration of Tom’s privacy,” Brady’s agent, Don Yee, told the Associated Press.

Bridget’s people dropped the baby bombshell Sunday and Tom has been taking a PR pummeling for cavorting in Paris with his new amour, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and ignoring the mama drama on the homefront.

Expert spinners say it is one of the few image gaffes the football hero’s made over the course of his squeaky-clean Cinderella career - but it’s a beaut!

“I couldn’t believe his response would be to say to Gisele, ‘Hey, let’s go walk around Paris, be photographed by the paparazzi and rub salt into Bridget’s 36-year-old wounds,’ ” said O’Neill and Associates spinmeister and former Herald business editor Cosmo Macero Jr., who opined that the pregnancy announcement was mishandled by both sides.

Brady’s statement - coming after increasing criticism of his silence and his seemingly carefree romp in Paris with the 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret supermodel - was revealing more for what it didn’t say, than what it did. It did not say that he will marry Moynahan and it did not give any details about how the estranged couple will work out the parenting arrangements.

“Everyone keeps saying he’ll do the right thing, but he’s not going to marry her. Of course, the right thing would be to marry her,” Macero said.“Cutting a monthly check isn’t exactly a burden on him.”

According to several media outlets, Brady was blindsided by the announcement, and an anonymous pal was quoted saying the timing was calculated “to make him look like a jerk.”
Us Weekly reported that Brady, 29, took “constant phone calls” on his cell Saturday night at the Ritz hotel in Paris.

“Whenever he started to look stern, Gisele would give him a kiss and say ‘Stay cool,’ ” a source told the magazine.

But a spokesman for the “Six Degrees” star said the daddy-to-be was tipped off well in advance that Moynahan was going to release the news.

“Tom was informed before the statement went out and he was aware of the pregnancy,” said Bridget’s spokesman Gary Mantoosh.

Yes, indeed. As we told you Monday, Brady’s known for several months that he’s going to be a daddy, but he has no intention of getting back together with his ex.

In fact, it appears as though Tom’s following some kind of Brady Bunch tradition here. Big sister, Maureen, had a baby out of wedlock and just married the father of her 6-year-old last year. His sister, Julie, also is an unmarried mom.

As for Bridget, Mantoosh said she’s in New York, finishing up filming on “Six Degrees” and is “excited” and “doing well.” (An ABC spokeswoman said the actress’ pregnancy won’t be written into the show.)

And from the Too Little Too Late File: A California condom company announced yesterday that their superhero mascot, CondomMan.com, is delivering 2,000 prophylactics to the Super Bowl champion daddy-to-be.

“While Tom Brady has proven himself to be a hero on the football field, something told me that he needs the help of a superhero off the field right now.” said Kevin Mirarchi, owner of CondomMan.com.

“We have sent him a large quantity of condoms, along with instructions on how to use them properly. Hopefully, this will prevent him from having any more surprises in the near future.”

The online prophylactic dealer sells four million condoms a year - apparently just not to Brady . . . .
