I wonder why "THE COSBY SHOW" which was a NBC sitcom, was being mentioned in a - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Positive Way on a ABC sitcom?-lol The ep when Ben was trying to get with his babysitter, he told her he watches the Cosby Show and she said-"You Too? and then both connected because of being Cosby show Fans-lol But why talk about a Sitcom in a good way thats on another Network?-lol

I recall seeing that episode the first time it aired and it never dawned on me abt that.

I wonder if there was a friend on the set of Mr. Cosby's or was there some kind of connection between the to networks?

Yeah because usually if another Sitcom is mentioned that's aired on another network they are usually poking fun at the show instead of saying how good it is

The Cosby Show was a juggernaut back then. I see what you are saying, but it wasn't the first time a show mentioned another network's show positively.

What other shows did this? I was trying to remember who else did this.

But like Sol said, it's usually to make fun of or like in the case of Good Times they would mention a show from the same network.

I think of The Cosby show as the king of sitcoms because it brought back the genere and was the #1 show for years in the most competitive - and best - time in TV.
It was so big that for GP to mention it wouldn't help it - we heard about it everywhere anyway.
GP also mentioned it another time: When the house was robbed, Mike said to the cop:"not axactly Miami Vice, is it". The cop said:" and you're not axactly the Cosby show either".
