Kelly Pickler’s dad arrested for alleged assault - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

ALBEMARLE, North Carolina - The father of former “American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler was arrested last week, according to reports.

Clyde Raymond Pickler, 42, was reportedly arrested in Albemarle, N.C., for allegedly assaulting a woman with a steak knife. As a result, he was booked with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault on a female and a misdemeanor charge of communicating threats.

A trial date for Pickler was reportedly set for February 28.

However, as anyone who watched Kellie on “American Idol” knows, this is not his first run-in with the law.

In 2003, Pickler spent time in jail after stabbing his neighbor. On “Idol,” Kellie often spoke about her father’s troubles.

Kellie released her debut album “Small Town Girl” in October 2006. It was recently certified Gold for selling more than 500,000 copies.

I know Kelly talking about her Dad scored her a lot of points with the media - but if she may want to distance herself from him if she wants to be a superstar.

Yeah, that sounds cruel, but he's got lots of problems, and it looks like he's never going to be a model citizen.
