I'm not really into UFO or Ghost UM episodes, but I am curious about episodes about them that have been proven to be hoaxes. I remember an episode from years ago about ghosts that was a hoax, but I can't remember what it was. Does anyone remember any episodes like that?

Wasn't Tina Resch eventually discovered to be a scam artist? I know she's been discussed on the boards at great lengths...

A lot of people are under the impression that Tina Resch was a scam artist. While that is still possible, that has yet to be proven. Basically, what happened was this: Tina admitted to knocking over a lamp on one occasion. She stated that she did this to get the media people off of her mother's back. Reportedly, there were a bunch of them over at the house and I believe they said that they weren't going to leave until the saw an "occurence". Tina's mom just wanted them out of there, so Tina staged the lamp falling off bit. The segment stated that this seemed to satisfy most of Tina's critics.
It was reported that there was a witness to every single occurence, which included not just Tina's family, but people in the community and various persons that came to do a study on her. The famous (or infamous) photograph finds that Tina didn't have her hands on the phone. One could argue that she launched it prior to the picture being taken, but I would imagine that would have been very difficult: looking at Tina's arms in the pic, they're placed in such a way that it gives me the impression that she was jolted/suprised by the launching of the phone, as opposed to launching it herself. As far as hoaxes go, there have only been a couple for sure that have been proven hoaxes: Anastasia and the KROQ dj's confess your crime, although there may be others, as well as others that have been speculated as hoaxes. |

Well there are cases that have basically proven to be hoaxes although the perpetrators still won't admit it. I believe Ed Walters in the Gulf Breeze segment and the one concerning "Guardian" would fit into this category.
